It is extremely unfortunate I cannot even get through to speak with someone to schedule an appointment. A staff member placed me on hold for 30 minutes which is excessive. I was disconnected after 30 minutes of holding. I called back was placed on hold again, so I just gave up. There is no shortage of individuals looking for employment right now. I doubt Cox Health would have an issue finding an individual to answer phones and schedule appointments if this is where the problem is.
I have been going to Dr. Pendergrass for about seven years. This last appointment was a disaster her attitude was out the door. Did not want to spend any time said she was in a hurry and needed to get this over with. I would not recommend this doctor to treat anything anymore for anyone.
She doesn't care about how her nurses treat her patients. I issued a complaint because when I called about refill he told me to stop talking and when I didn't he hung up on me. I received a letter 2 days later saying I was no longer a patient find another doctor!! She doesn't deserve 1 star
She doesnt care about patients just nurses. I issued a complaint be he told me to stop talking and hung up on me and I received a letter saying I was no longer welcome find another dr
Dr. Pendergrass has always been nothing but kind to me. She listens, takes care of what needs to be done, and doesn’t make you feel rushed. I’ve never had a better doctor.
She is a doctor that you have to schedule 30 days in advance to become sick. Does not want to listen, only to key words, spends 90% of the office time punching buttons on the computer instead of listening to you. She is my family doctor and refused to help get me into a doctor of the specialist because I had the diagnosis test at a different hospital than CoxHealth. It would help if she and the entire staff took a course in bedside manners and listening.
Dr. Pendergrass is a nice person, but after seeing her for multiple health concerns I’ve come to the conclusion that if you have any issue out of the norm, she won’t be much help. I’ve found her to be reluctant to investigate into issues and getting her to do anything is like pulling teeth. I work in the medical field and she still tends to treat me like I’m dumb. To be told you have to make an appointment, drive in 30min, and be told your problem isn’t serious enough to do anything is terrible.
She didnt seem to know the difference between psychology and psychiatry. Denied me treatment on the issue I came for and tried to give me an extremely expensive test I didnt need.
She is very friendly. She said to me that she’s too busy to look at patients past records. She seems only interested in getting you in and out to make another buck. Asked her about having problems breathing when exercising and did even cross her mind about me having asthma. Maybe because she doesn’t look at your records. Also very hard to get into see her always refer you to nurse practitioner first.
When I went in to establish care with Dr. Pendergrass, she acted as though I was bothering her. She started me on meds for high blood pressure, and didnt want to see me for a whole year not even to recheck my bp readings. She was rude, made no eye contact, and at one point, when I was tearful, she didnt even ask me if I was okay. She took care of my mom also, and ignored her problems. My mom ended up getting really sick over the holidays. Shes in it for money, not because she cares.
While I liked Dr. Pendergrass in person very much, I have had an overwhelmingly difficult time in dealing with the office, staff and communication with and between all of them. From difficulty getting appointments (Ive ended up going to Urgent Care twice instead), to miscommunications and frustrating backandforths over the phone with office staff to try to have issues addressed, check on a dropped referral, or speak to a nurse it has been nothing but frustrating.
My whole experience was great....from the receptionist, to dr assistant, to Dr. Pendergrass. She was very thorough, kind and caring. Very impressed.
Shes nice, attentive and energetic.
Dr. Pendergrass and her medical assistant are one of a kind. The bestDonna is the medical assistant and she is so friendly and nice. Same with Dr. Pendergrass. I am switching over to Mercy at the beginning of 2015 for other reasons, other not so good doctors I have ran into, but if I could take Dr. Pendergrass with me, I would!! She is young and is still learning, but she is honest to a fault and she does not beat around the bush, something I personally appreciate. I really appreciate it that she has the kind of personality that she is able to do this with tact, compassion and without any disrespect towards you as a person. If you are looking for a Cox doctor, I would highly recommend her.
