This cataract removal operation turned out to be a very pleasant procedure. Dr Prater really knows the process obviously. I did not even know he had started to remove the cataract when he announced to me that he was finished! It could have not taken more than 15 minutes and I was being wheeled to the door. I highly recommend Dr Prater and the entire staff to anyone looking for an experienced capable eye clinic to do this procedure.

Very likeable. He and his staff go to Mt. Grove to confer with patients. He was not in a hurry, he asked me about my eyes and answered my questions. I very much appreciated not having to drive to Springfield for the initial meeting.

I was in and out within an hour and a half. The very next day, I woke up able to see. Clearly. This past Friday I had my week after follow up appointment and wow, I just can't even fathom the results. My eyesight was reevaluated and both of my eyes now read at 20/15, which is actually BETTER than 20/20 vision. I literally went from being legally blind to having the best possible vision over the span of one week. I am so happy with this entire process that I just had to share it with you. I can't stop thinking about how amazing this experience has been. I will forever be a patient at Mattax Neu Prater. If you have been thinking about having your eyesight evaluated for LASIK, or you've been waiting for a sign to look in to it, this is that sign!! RUN to get your consult. It is so worth it. Follow up from cataract surgery, lens implant. Everything was very professional, caring, and thorough. I felt very confident that my eyes were in great hands.

Dr Prater’s office is organized, clean and the staff is very efficient and caring. Dr Prater has an excellent “bedside manner”, he explains what he is doing and why. He follows through and keeps my Primary Care Dr up to speed on my results. He also did procedures on both of my wife's eyes which were very successful with no drama. I highly recommend DrPrater and his establishment.
