Dr. Shifren‘s assistant, nurse Pam is rude and impatient! It takes her more than a week to respond your message, sometimes she never respond!!! She lacks communication skills and compassion. It is difficult to get an appointment and such a hassle to get anything out of Pam , she is incompetent and should be fired. After almost three years with this doctor, I am taking my business elsewhere.

Dr. Shifren might be exceptional in his field in the eyes of colleagues, however, he is not the person for you if you are looking for exceptional patient care and compassion. He is a very busy physician and only takes appointments 1/2 day a week for his established patients. He will not call you or explain important/potentially life changing results to you in a timely manner. His nurse, Pam, also lacks communication skills and compassion. I regret my decision to go with this lung doctor at Barnes. Not because I doubt his abilities, but because of the disappointing effort he makes to follow up with his patients and the hassle of trying to get any answer out of him or his staff.
