Alex Kelsheimer's Online Review Report Card

My teenage son broke his arm in February, and Dr Kelsheimer performed the surgery to repair his bones and we visited his office for all follow-up visits. Based on the x-rays, the work was excellent, and the PT we visited afterwards said the incisions were the straightest she'd ever seen! Dr Kelsheimer checked on my son several times in the hospital after the surgery, and was very caring and helpful during all of our follow-up visits. He guided us through making sure we scheduled PT for him, gave us advice on the healing for the scars and he was just generally a really nice guy and fun to work with. If I ever broke a bone, he is the surgeon I would choose to do the surgery. On top of that, everyone in his office is pleasant, kind and efficient. I'm kind of sad that we won't be going back anymore. My son felt really comfortable working with Dr Kelsheimer as well. I highly recommend!

Professional, caring, and supportive through the entire process.

I fell and fractured my shoulder and Dr Kelsheimers office was the only office I could find to get me in quickly. Dr. Kelsheimer greeted me like he had know me his whole life. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. He explained everything that needed to be done and got me into surgery very quickly. He was caring throughout the entire surgery and healing processes. Always up front and honest (whether I wanted to hear it or not). His directions for recovery were right on the mark and in following them I have made great slides in getting back to my old self. I don't wish for anyone to need Dr. Kelsheimers services, but if you do, you will be very pleased with him and his staff!

Explains extremely well all the details involving your condition. He is very approachable and knowledgeable and communicates with you in a way you are able to understand. His staff is as friendly and efficient as he is.

Dr. Kelsheimer was very conservative in his approach to my issues. He tried other options before recommending surgery. Dr. Kelsheimer detailed all the pros and cons to each treatment. His manner was kind and he listened well. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Alexander Kelsheimer for any issues from your fingers to your shoulder (which is what he specializes in).;

Dr Kelsheimer is an excellent surgeon. I had a right wrist fracture that required a complex surgery with metal placement. Four months later when I was nearing discharge, I had a mishap and fractured it again requiring a second complex surgery with more metal to repair it. Dr Kelsheimer stepped up to the challenge with confidence. I was scheduled quickly and he provided intense follow up after the surgery to ensure no complications ensued. He is brilliant, kind, and has common sense. He utilizes shared decision making and a team approach working closely with my OT Hand Therapist. He is held in high esteem by his colleagues from the ED to the medical center and came highly recommended by his colleagues in the ED when I initially broke my wrist. Tracy and his entire staff are excellent, the office is at a convenient location with easy access. I have regained function in my right hand thanks to the excellent care I received from Dr Kelsheimer and his team! Thank you!

I saw Dr Kelsheimer for a ganglion cyst on my right wrist. He did surgery to remove it. Throughout the whole process, with every appointment, he was very good at explaining absolutely everything. This was my very first surgery and I wasn't worried about a thing. I knew I was in good hands with him.

I went to Dr. Kelsheimer for shoulder damage due to injury from an injection by another provider. He was very patient and listened to me and gave me options. He never made me feel rushed and was always very concise when answering my questions. Most importantly, when I was going in for one of my followups, I told him about another condition that my primary care had not been able to help with and I was at wits' end. I asked his opinion on whether to see a rheumatologist or autoimmune provider. He not only took the time to look up some doctors and their contact information but also ordered preliminary blood tests which expedited my visit a few weeks later with a rheumatologist who ordered additional tests to definitively determine that I had Sjogrens Syndrome. That usually takes 5-7 years to diagnosis. I had atypical symptoms when talking with him so I asked him in another visit how he guessed correctly what I had. He gave a humble answer but after being in a Sjogrens support group, I realize I was very lucky to have the diagnosis made so quickly and am on medication from the rheumatologist which can prevent many complications if it hadn't been diagnosed right away.

Dr. Kelsheimer is an excellent hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder surgeon. He’s extremely knowledgeable, explains things thoroughly, and is very involved in his patient’s care before, during, and after treatment/surgery. He has a very friendly bedside manner and really listens to his patients.

Dr. Kelsheimer and his staff were amazing after my motorcycle accident. I was pretty beat up and broke my left clavicle among other injuries. Dr Kelsheimer was very confident on his recommendation for surgery on my displaced clavicle and I'm glad we followed it. He made a terrible situation a lot less stressful and made light of the experience with a good sense of humor. I felt like I was talking with a friend when I went in for my follow-ups. It's clear that he really cares about his patients and is an expert at what he does. My recovery went very well. Exactly as expected. You are in great hands with Alex and his staff.
