List of David Lee Ulrich's Reviews
Wow, thanks for the advice. I asked my urologist for a good Gastro doc and he referred me to Ulrich. Well, still looking, thanks for saving me the time.
I've seen Dr. Ulrich twice, and in all fairness, the first time I saw him, he was much different and did a good job of helping me. However, when I went back for a follow-up visit that I'd waited 3 months for due to his schedule, his demeanor was 100% different. Based on that visit, if I could give him a zero, I would. He entered the exam room literally ranting about how much the prescription he had prescribed at my last visit had cost the insurance company, and kept saying did I think it was fair that they were spending that much money on me. When I sputtered and had no answer for him because I was so dumbfounded that a Dr. would talk to me like that, he asked if I'd tried an over the counter medicine. When I said no, he said 'did I think I was too good to take over the counter medicine.' All of this happened without me even starting to tell him why I was there. I finally had to be the adult and redirect the visit. I won't be coming back.

I finally had to be the adult and redirect the visit and start to tell him why I was coming back to see him, but he wasn't interested. He said he couldn't help me any more, and my ailments didn't fall under his area of expertise. He dismissed, diminished, bullied and ignored me. His unprofessional and off-topic behavior was unacceptable. I won't be going back.
It is very difficult to get someone one the phone. Leaving a voicemail rarely results a call back. Who ever is responsible for responding to messages through the patient portal either loathes and detests their job or does not have the reading comprehension skills necessary for the task. Here is an example: Me: I have been taking (new medicine) for 2 weeks and am still experiencing (symptoms) Office: Have you been taking (new medicine)? M: Yes, I have been taking (new medicine) for over 2 weeks. I am also take OTC medicines A, B, & C. O: Try taking OTC medication B at night M: I am already taking OTC medication B in the morning. Are saying I should take an additional dose at night or switch the time I take it? O No response. A prescription was called into my pharmacy but I was not notified.
A Caring, Professional Dr. I was given Dr. David Ulrich's name by a Dr. at another hospital. The hospital I had been in, had no pancreatic specialist. I thank God I was given Dr. Ulrich"s name. He is the only Dr. that has been able to give me help. Many years ago I was told if a patient needs to find a new Dr.; they should ask medical employees who know the character & skills of a Dr. I have found this to be true.
Nope! Would leave 0 stars if it was an option. Condescending and rude. Seriously wish I had read these reviews before my husband’s procedure. Will never go to another specialist just because we were referred, will do my homework beforehand. Trust me, steer clear of this one!!
I have never had any issues people talk about in other reviews. The front office lady is very nice! She always remembers my name and one time went out of her way to help me figure out an issue with a previous bill from the emergency dept. Dr. Ulrich has a high volume of patients and lots of them with difficult cases. For being such a high demand Dr. He provides more than enough attentiveness to his patients. I had a procedure done by him and then had too move to another state for my husbands job. I started following up with a new GI out of town who specializes in my issue and he said the Dr. Who performed my procedure did an amazing job and the amount of detail in his report was amazing. I feel comfortable with him as my Dr. and LOVE following up with him when I am in town. He is the only one I trust to do any procedure on me and it will stay like that until he retires or develops shaky hands then I might look for a new one. My point is, you can trust him. You cannot base your decisions off of every review on Google. Some people have mental health issues and write nasty reviews about everything. Keep in mind he's a busy Dr. Because he's a good Dr. My primary referred me to him (my primary graduated top in his class and has a great track record; I trust both of them)
He is incompetent. He did not listen. He got the reason for referral wrong. He questioned my longstanding diagnosis because he failed to gather or review my medical records. He did not follow through or seem interested in providing care but just sent for generic colonoscopy.
The best doctor and very caring. He always take care of me. Very friendly and treated me like a family. He even the one who search for the specialist in Saint Louis University that solved all my health problems and live normal again. I will always be grateful to this angel that was sent from heaven to help me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
