List of Grant S. Hoekzema's Reviews
This is a Resident Practice led by Dr Grant Hoekzema. The patient care is not consistent and there are many errors. The Faculty Doctors in this practice do not seem to be doing a very good job with resident over-sight. Very disappointed.
Dr Hoekzema leds this Residence practice. I have been very disappointed in the patient care and consistent plan. The oversight of the residents by Faculty is very weak and there have been mistakes, confusion and lack of empathy.
Dr. Hoekzema has been my primary for years. He is part of the reason I am still here, early diagnoses of cancer, thank you again.
I have been a patient of Dr. Hoekzema's for more than 5 years now and feel that he is the best doctor I have ever seen. He treats me with respect and always takes time to address all my concerns and questions. Highly recommend him!
When my wife called to request a new patient appointment, the receptionist rudely demanded to know who had referred her and made her feel like there was something wrong with her for asking for an appointment.
Dr was rushed, I could hear him otside of my room complaining that I was added to his schedule
Dr, Hoekzema is very easy to talk to & shows that he cares.
I have been a patient of Dr. Hoekzema's for over 10 years. Within those years he has diagnosed significant health issues that were underterminable of the surface. He went to extra lengths to assure my health complaints were investigated and ordered every test possible until he reached a diagnosis for every issue. The staff of nurses dont turn over like most offices, Norma, and the rest have exemplory follow up and enormous compassion! I was one of Dr.'s last patients on my recent visit and he had to tell me some frightning news regarding a new finding in my blood work. He sat down to discuss the situation with such clarity and confidence in his findings and resultion that I knew God had sent me to him for this reason, he was with me for over an hour and has never rushed one visit in 10 years! I was rushed to the ER and the ER Dr. asked me who my primary was? He was rushing I.V.'s in me and obviously asking the traditional questions. When I said in a weak voice Dr. Grant Hoekzema, he stopped and smiled and said he trained me your in good hands! Again I knew God sent me to this man as once again I felt immediate peace knowing he would be informed of my details and would be right there with me! Thank you to you and your staff!
Grant was thorough, caring, and personable. I felt I was in good hands. He was concerned that I get off meds when I could. I recommend him.
Dr. Hoekzema (Dr. H) was my only doctor for over 6 years and completely missed my main medical problem--multiple sclerosis (MS). My file shows that Dr. H knew I was concerned about MS (because I had had optic neuritis). My file notes that I had not had an MRI. I didn't know that I should have pushed Dr. H for an MRI or a referral to a neurologist. Dr. H ordered only very basic blood/urine tests, conducted his own neurological exam and insisted that I was healthy. Eventually he could no longer explain my problems away as "stress" or "some virus". The last thing he told me was that the numbness that had spread up one leg across my torso and down the other leg was "not consistent with MS". The neurologist that I found (with no help from Dr. H) said such numbness was "completely consistent with MS lesions on the spine". After thorough testing, this neurologist diagnosed me with MS and immediately started me on medication to slow the damage to my brain and spine. I regret trusting Dr. H.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
