Gregory P. Van Stavern's Online Review Report Card

I was sent to him by a cohort. He has done admirably with this 80 plus aged patient. His 'Fellowship' doctor is also trying her best as she is learning along side him. My eyesight and probably future rest in his hands. Thank you Dr. Van Stavern.

Totally dismissed me. I told him when my double vision started (as an adult in my late 30’s.) He said it must have been as a child - I must have worn an eye patch and forgotten. (Untrue.) I asked about previous abnormal test results elsewhere. He said it was wrong, walked out. I found out later he had released me as a patient. I found out years afterwards that I have a genetic connective tissue disease that had caused a lax ligament in my eye muscle. His arrogance and refusal to listen delayed my diagnosis.

I have seen Dr. Van Stavern on two different times. He is not only excellent at his specialty, but is also wonderful at dealing with patients! He is a nice, respectful, caring doctor. He talks openly and honestly with you and willing to take time to answer your questions. Ten thumbs up for Dr. Van Stavern!

His prescribed treatments have made my chronic eye problems manageable. Dr. Van Stavern is thorough and kind. He always takes time to explain things in as much detail as I want and to answer my questions. My appointments have always been on time and his staff is excellent, especially Eve.

I was referred to Dr. Van Stavern because of a fixed dialated pupil. From start to finish my experience was good. Dr. Van Stavern took his time with my examination and took his time explaining his diagnosis to me. He was very friendly and very thorough and very encouraging.

Dr. Van Stavern is very knowledgeable, and listened to all my questions and concerns that I had about my Intracranial Hypertension. He took the time to explain what was going on, and sent me for some testing the same day. I was able to see him again that day for the results. By seeing him, I found out my other doctor I was seeing had me on meds that were causing me more headaches. He is truly an amazing doctor. His staff is amazing too when I call in with concerns about headaches.

I was taken back earlier than my actual appointment time and was very impressed with how productive my appt was. His entire staff was wonderful, very kind and professional. They even stayed late to run an extra test on me so I didn't have to drive another 2 hours another day just to have it done. He told me he would call me later that evening with results and he did.
