List of Howard Place's Reviews
I have Kyphoscoliosis and he ordered a full thorax sna of my spine. I asked him about a treatment that does not use rods but bolts to re-align the vertegrea. His attitude about my request was deweaning and made me feel belittled. He didn't believe what I was saying and didn't get the chance to show what I found on several websites. He did want to see me in 6 months to see if there was a change, He aid in the meantime, stand up straighter. He then left the exam room. total time in the room was less than ten minutes. I felt he could really give a crap about my situation.
Fabulous man. Very direct and thorough. Operated on my special needs son who has scoliosis. Made a world of difference.
Dr. Place is excellent. He understands patients' mindsets and immediately puts you at ease. He's gifted at what he does and is as focused on when surgery ISN'T required as he is when it is. My wife broke her back and i herniated 2 lumbar disks about 2 years apart. Compassionate, down-to-earth, and exceptionally talented medically.
Horrible experience. The facilites are subpar, the md kept us waiting in a frigid room ( The staff G how cold the room was but wouldn’t let us leave the door open), was rushed once he and a troop of students finally made it to the room.
This doctor is second to none. The highly advertised group gave me the run around for six months. Dr. Place, at SLU was kind, thorough, and gave every explanation to be had, on how to address my spine situation. He deserves 5 stars. I am content/pleased/happy with the results from treatment with Dr. Place.
Horrible. He was horrible, the facility at saint louis univ was horrible and I would not recommend
At 80 years old my dad could not stand or walk, Dr. Place operated on his neck and within the first week my dad was walking. I thank God everyday that he was were blessed to know him.
Horrible experience. Talked in circles and gave no explanations or answers. Was dismissive of issues. If I asked a question, he just repeated the same non-explanation. I have been to many orthopedic surgeons as I have had lifelong back problems and multiple surgeries. Worst doctor I have ever spoken with. Other staff was extremely nice and accommodating: however, that does not make up for the doctor. Would never recommend him to anyone.
He is the most awesome orthopedic doctor that I have ever been to!!!!! I had polio at age 11 months old & after the first time I talked with him I thought to myself........Where have you been all my life, & I remember my momma telling me that I had some awesome Dr.'s that were Generals in the Air Force, but Dr Place takes presidence over all of them! That's my feelings!!!!!!!!!
I can sum it up in a few short words he is the best Dr.I was in surgery for eight hours for my back. When I woke up there was no pain and there hasn't been any since before my surgery.I can thank god I found him.So if I haven't already told him thank you I telling him now.Thank You Dr. Howard Place. Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
