List of Jamie Christine Joyce's Reviews
About 8 years ago when I first started seeing her, first few visits with her were great, she was kind and really seemed to care but later on just became careless and didn’t help me at all with any of the issues I was having and things I wanted to achieve. Every visit I would leave disappointed and helpless she didn’t give me any helpful information about what to do, no referrals etc. Once I became pregnant, I asked to change doctors and was told “the office doesn’t allow that” ??? What office doesn’t allow you to change your doctor if you don’t feel like you can trust your care with the current one.. so I left the office and found a new OB at a different office.
I saw Dr. Joyce for about 10 years. I wholeheartedly trusted her, and she completely failed me as a doctor. I needed BC for heavy periods, and she put me on Progesterone Depo injections. She mentioned that there could be bone loss, but assured me it was nothing to worry about, so long as I stopped the medication for a year every 5 years. Every time I saw her I asked her to order a bone density scan, and she said, "We don't do those anymore." For the longest time, I took that answer at face value, as I was really just a child and didn't know any better. I finally asked one of my other doctors to order a bone density scan, and it showed that I have osteopenia and post-menopausal bones...at the age of 25. Thankfully, my other doctor thinks it is reversible, but that doesn't change the fact that Dr. Joyce was deceptive and didn't take my risk factors into account at all. Furthermore, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and mold toxicity, and upon hearing this Dr. Joyce said my other doctor (who has quite literally saved my life) is taking advantage of me for my money. She said, "Lyme disease doesn't exist in Missouri." I've never felt more invalidated and disrespected by a doctor in my entire life. I would not recommend her to anyone, but especially parents sending their daughters for care.
I have made two appointments only to have the office cancel at the last minute. I took off from work both times. I understand being called away for a delivery but this has happened twice and they made no accomodations to set a later appointment so I wouldn't have to take off work again. I was told not with a new patient and rushed off the phone
She was my obgyn 8 years ago with my first child and have to say that I was in labor from Monday to Wednesday when they decided to do “emergency c section” Dr. Green stepped in and was very kind and helpful. Needless to say nurses at St.Anthony’s ( at that time) were pretty disgusted with the whole process. Gained 70+ pounds, had a baby 9.6 pounds and two days before my due date they said my baby was 5.4 pounds. Oh my baby was breached and they have no idea! Awful, awful first time experience.
We were scheduled to be induced on a Friday with Dr. Campbell but our baby decided to come the Thursday before which meant Jamie Joyce was doctor on call. Our baby was having a hard time coming and had her heart rate going from 60 to 180. Jamie Joyce came to our room and let us know how she had other plans than delivering our child. When rushed to our c section she treated the other team members with such disrespect and talked down to them especially the anesthesiologists. Prior to her coming to our room, my mother was sitting outside and could hear her talking to another co worker with disrespect as well. This was such a horrible experience with our first child and do not recommend this doctor.
She is amazing
~I had toxemia in my 3rd tri & was blown off bc I was young and healthy. When I got to the hospital in labor I was accused of not going to my OB appts due to my condition. I had seen Dr. less than 24hrs beforehand & complained of pain in my ribs for the umpteenth time but was told I was fine. The staff stopped discussing it with me at that point & would not respond to Qs. I had full placenta abrumption. A substantial chunk of placenta was left behind which caused severe blood loss at 7days postpartum. ~Dr. stripped my membrane at an appt while checking how dilated I was. She did this without warning me, asking me, or even letting me know after the fact. ~Dr. dug tested me at my initial appointment without my knowledge. I don't do drugs and the test came back clean. I am still angered by this behavior regardless. ~Both the last points were incredibly violating and an infringement on trust and bodily autonomy
I was supposed to have surgery with Dr. Joyce. All interactions prior to the surgery with Dr. Joyce were very positive. I can see why people like her. However, prior to surgery that's goal was to find out what had caused me to have peritonitis (which could have been caused by either something gastrointestinal or OBGYN (now I think it was the former), I wrote down directives to ensure it was understood that unless a life-threatening situation occurred, I did not want to wake up from surgery to a hysterectomy because I really wanted to have children. Anyway, she was so insulted by me writing down my concerns, that she dumped me as a patient immediately which delayed my treatment for significant health issues by months. I had no idea that she would react like that. It was a very distressing situation all around.

Everyone is super nice and very sincere. Best experience I've ever had at a Dr's office. Will continue coming!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
