Dr. Joel permutter, Barnes Hospital, STL, has my Cervical Distonia pain, totally under control!!! It does take some time to get an initial appointment, however it is worth the wait!!

I have been Dr Perlmutter's patient for several years & I cannot say enough good things about him. He is almost always on time. He answers questions, takes time w/me and has been very effective with my problem. I couldn't be more satisfied with his treatment.

Dr Perlmutter and his staff are the best around. Him and his staff are so very compassionate and caring. Johanna is his physician assistant and together, they take the best care of their patients. I know this firsthand because I am a patient there.

Dr. Perlmutter treated my wife and me with extraordinary coldness and cruelty in an appointment. He was wholly unaware of the medical record, yet dismissed all of our views. This was some years ago, and perhaps he has recovered his humanity, but the performance we experienced was shocking. He did harm, and that's the worst thing a doctor can do. He spent plenty of time with us, but he dismissed all of our views and treated us with contempt and what looked to us like a desire to hurt us.

Dr. Perlmutter is a wonderful physician. He is an expert neurologist, but still listens to his patients and their opinions to determine what is the best treatment for their specific condition. He spends countless hours engaged in clinical studies, research, and teaching at Washington University. He also makes time to participate in community and nation-wide events to support knowledge and research in his field.

I'm considering leaving this doctor. I don't think his staff cares about me. I have called several times concerning my chonic pain with dystonia and I got a "too bad you will just have to hang in there attitude" You can bet if it were them they would be the first to complain. I am very dissapointed and frustrated with their care. I guess when you have enough patients you can always say theres more where that came from. Hopefully I can find a more empathetic doctor & staff.

Wonderful, caring Physician. respected Expert in movement disorders therefore initial appointment is a challenge but once in BJC system no problems. A bit of a wait on arrival as Dr. Perlmutter doesn.t rush and gives each patient undivided attention.
