List of Kindred Hospital St. Louis South's Reviews
Ron came to Kindred Hospital St. Louis South on a ventilator after being in the ICU for 6 weeks. During his stay he was able to wean from the vent and get his trach and feeding tube removed. He gained strength and mobility. I can't say enough about the administration, staff, doctors, respiratory therapists, nurses, and techs. The team all worked together for the common goal to help Ron heal and get stronger to come home to our family. They were well trained, supportive of his needs, and very kind and caring. They treated him not as another patient, but as the man, husband and father he is outside of that hospital bed. I will be forever grateful to the entire staff at Kindred St. Louis South for helping Ron return to our family!
My husband was recently at kindred hospitalI cannot thank the staff enough for getting my husband successfully off the ventilator and the trach ...5 stars for that ..Overall I was very happy with my husband's care ...thk you again for getting my husband on the next step of his journey to recovery ..
My mother became a patient at Kindred South after she suffered a brain bleed from a fall. She had a cranitomy, stroke, bone flap removal and seizures at Barnes. I was full of anxiety knowing she had to transfer and Kindred South seemed to be the best fit. I knew that I had made the right decision based on arrival to Kindred South. Everyone from Dr. Munshi to the nurses, nurses aides, respiratory therapist's, physical therapist's, occupational therapist's put me at ease. Dr. Munshi was the best. He took the time to talk to me, no smoke and mirrors, he also recommended a book to read "Being Mortal". He has great bedside manners, can relate to where I was with my mother (he's had his own personal experiences with other loved ones). They treated my mom as a human being not just a patient. The staff was positive, upbeat and helpful when I needed things. The names I remember are Tiffany, Michelle, Helene, Paige, Taya, Cindy, Brett, Chris, Alexis and many more that I can't remember, forgive me. I would recommend Kindred Hospital St. Louis - South to anyone.
Less than impressed with the care here. Although other reviews sounded positive I really don’t have many good things to say. So instead of going into specifics I will leave my review right there.!
My family member was transferred to Kindred Hospital after being in the ICU for several weeks. We appreciated the doctors, nurses and admin staff who met with us weekly to discuss her progress as a team. In addition, to the excellent nursing and therapy care provided, staff members would check on her just to make sure that she was okay. Kindred provides the level of acute care that is needed to help patients reach their goals, and most importantly, provided our family members with compassion during this difficult journey.
My mom was taken care of by the team at Kindred, and they worked hard to ensure her stay was as productive as possible. We are grateful for their encouragement and support.
My brother was given great care and attention while healing at Kindred South. The staff was amazingI can’t thank them enough for their help.
My wife was admitted to Kindred Hospital St. Louis South because of breathing related issues and wound care. Her treatment from everyone we have met at Kindred has been great from the cleaning people to the Nurses and Doctors. The Nurses and Doctors explained what was happening and listened to and answered our questions and confirmed that we understood what was happening. My wife's lung function improved greatly and very quickly. She was taken off the ventilator and her lung function returned to normal oxygen levels while breathing on her own. My wife did have troubles and was getting worse and Kindreds Doctors and Nurses helped her get emergency treatment at a local Hospital where she was stabilized and treated for a new found issue. She then returned to Kindred and they helped get her off of the ventilator again and this time she is coming home after a long hard battle. We both want to thank everyone we met at Kindred. Their care is top notch, the food is very good and the Hospital is kept clean by a very friendly crew. The Doctors and Nurses kept us both updated on what they expected to happen and why they were doing what they recommended. Thank you to all people we encountered at Kindred!
Do what you can to find another acute care "hospital." Kindred should not have a "hospital" designation. They are understaffed. Call lights go unanswered resulting in patients lying or sitting with soiled linens. Staff did not address issues with changes in mental status and mental health. As a POA for a former patient I requested my family member be transported to an ER on 2 occasions, Kindred did not address my concerns. I was forced to the call the ambulance myself, only for it to be turned away by kindred staff. I was unable to reach nursing staff after hours. After the ambulance left, I received a call from an irate nurse because I called for an ambulance. Staff kept my family member in a lethargic state, giving her insulin with a blood sugar in the 90s and a very limited appetite. Rehab was almost non-existant, family member developed wounds from not being allowed out of her chair. Social/case workers were oblivious to patients medical needs when it came to discharge to a rehab facility or home.
Kindred hospital is the best hospital I have ever been. They have the best food i give them a 10 on their food. Nurses and Doctors are really awesome. the rest of the staff is awsome to. over all I give them a 10.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
