List of Maheen M. Malik's Reviews
Dr Malik I just want to say thank you to you for your compassion, understanding, competency, eptitude, professionalism, proficiency and dedication. You and all of your staff made all the difference. In the face of trauma you were patient and understanding. My love and respect for you. Sincerely, Margaret.
I have been a patient with him for 6 years. I currently took myself off suboxone and am having a really hard time. I called his office for help in why I am feeling this way and after 5 days someone called me back to let me know they can get me in a month. Total joke!!! Can’t believe all the money I have paid this doc and that’s all I get. Total disappointment I would give him 0 stars if I could.
After only three appointments, I can say Dr. Malik is the best psychiatrist I have worked with, out of many. He is very knowledgeable and will change your medications around if they are not working for you. He affirms your thoughts about your mental health and provides motivational speeches. After many years I finally found a psychiatrist I can trust. For those commenting on him being late to meetings. A great psychiatrist is hard to come by, and worth the wait.
My mom was admitted to CenterPointe over a year ago and was in treatment for 8-9 days. It was horrible and not once could I speak to the dr in charge (Dr Malik). Now, a year later, we have a Zoom appointment. First I was told that the appt was 2:45 but in all probability it would be after 5:00, and “Was that ok?” I said no it is not ok to automatically assume an appt would be over two hours late. A couple days ago I was told that the Zoom meeting would be on time as scheduled. I’m sitting here an hour later- no response on zoom. I called his listed number to determine how much longer it would be. His call service said, “I have no way to reach him. You need to call him directly.” I said, “I did and you answered.” He said I just should call back in 20-30 minutes. This happened 3x. Update: I received a phone call at 4:30 and Dr Malik seemed concerned and helpful.
After a week of leaving messages regarding an urgent issue, we still haven’t received a call back. Definitely choose another doctor if you actually want proper care.
He told me "If that doesn't work just call me back and we'll get it fixed, okay?" He didn't pick up any of the multiple times I called (over the course of TWO MONTHS) and didn't return any messages. Any calls to the office were met with 30+ minute hold times and useless assistants promising to deliver messages that the doctor and/or nurse practitioner never received. My therapist somehow pulled some strings and talked to someone who finally called to schedule a formal appointment. He didn't call for over an hour passed the specified time, and when I called he seemed unaware of the appointment, said something came up, and then ASKED ME what time worked for a call! When we finally talked, he told me to reach out sooner next time. Safe to say I will not waste my time. Incredibly useless services. Terrible practice. An absolute nightmare.
IF YOU NEED HELP THIS IS NOT THE DR TO SEE,HE PUT ME ON MEDS AND I HAD TO FIGHT THEM EVERY MONTH FOR REFILLS, THEN 2 WEEKS AGO I CALLED FOR MY REFILLS AND NOTHING, I CALLED EVERDAY AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GIVE HIM THE MESSAGE, STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM HIM, HAD TO GO TO MY REGULAR DR TO GET MY MEDS,SHE SAID YOU CANT JUST STOP TAKING THEM. ITS SAD HOW I WAS TREATED. AND IM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. THIS MAN SHOULD NOT BE WORKING HE DOES NOT CARE!!!!
Dr Malik was my Doctor for 22 years. He is the only doctor that I’ve found that ever listened to me talk and at least pretended that he cared. Even though there was a wait time to see him, it was well worth it. I haven’t found anyone as good as he was since I had him as my physician.
Dr. Malik does not return phone calls. She fails to call in prescriptions when promised and more than once has sent them in the wrong name. If there's a way to contact her online, her office has, despite requests, failed to provide it.
Terrible. He canceled my appointments with him for almost a year in a row, leaving me to be treated by his nurse. When he didn't cancel I've waited more than three hours past my appointment time, sometimes as late at 10pm, to actually see him. He wrote off serious side effects of my medication as stress for nearly a year until I stopped the medication myself and demanded something else which his nurse actually prescribed because I couldn't get a hold of him at all for more than two weeks. His note talking is not very good and every appointment he asked if this was my first time seeing him. It was like starting over with a new doctor every appointment. No one ever answers the phone, I've been on hold for an hour before the system hung up on me several times. They lost my appointment several times, once several in a row so that I didn't see anyone for nine months. Do not waste your time with this man and his practice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
