I'm going in the hospital the 13th of this month and I hope and pray that he does my surgery well I've read his ratings and they are good. And I know I'm a difficult person because when they try to put me to sleep for surgery I go flat line and come out on life support so I hope however he doesn't I will be safe and okay
Dr . Wise performed my surgery with precision and without complication. He has excellent bedside manner.
Dr. Wise is an absolutely amazing surgeon and overall doctor. He is one of the most skilled GI surgeons in the world and is highly respected by the staff of Barnes hospital. Due to demand it can be difficult to get appointments or become a new patient (as happens with really great doctors). Dr. Wise has helped me tremendously and I am extremely grateful for having access to such a uniquely adept surgeon.
Dr. Wise is an expert in his field. From the minute he walked in the room, we felt so much better about our situation. His confidence and "bedside manner" gave us so much more peace than we had before. We sought out Dr. Wise for a second opinion after our first surgeon was...less than satisfactory to say the least. Dr. Wise was a night and day difference. It's disheartening to see someone down rate him because they were unable to figure out how to contact his office.
His office is impossible to get in contact with.
He is caring great bed side manners he explains everything in great details. I thi n k he is a wonderful doctor. He goes the extra mile to do his best for his patients. I am blessed to have him as my doctor more should learn from him. May God bless him hes always in my prayers
He disappeared immediately after surgery leaving me with many problems with his students.
Dr. Paul Wise was my 'second opinion' after my first colonoscopy 10/2017. First opinion was to cut out one third of my colon even though I did not have colon cancer. They found and removed a very large precancerous polyp, and determined it would be much better to remove the right side of my colon than to have several additional colonoscopies. The surgery requires hospitalization and months to totally recoup. I went for a second opinion to Dr. Wise 01/2018. He discussed all details and options, plus re-examined the lab results, to determine if additional and more frequent colonoscopies, instead of surgery, would be feasible. We decided to do two follow-up colonoscopies within the next thirteen months. Several small polyps were found in various parts of the colon and were removed. So now I 'm set for a colonoscopy every two years. Even if I had had part of my colon removed I would still need a colonoscopy every two years. So thankful that I found Dr. Wise. Wonderful and dedicated.
Sherman suffered for one year Dr Wise cured him thank you his mother.
Dr. Wise saved my Mother’s life. She has been diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer and we immediately seeked help at Vanderbilt University. No one would attempt the surgery because she had an insurance lag. He decided to take it upon myself to do the surgery anyway. He performed and ileostomy after removing the tumor, he then performed the reversal after the treatment plan. I cannot say enough good things regarding this doctor. He was absolutely amazing!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
