Rodrigo Vazquez Guillamet's Online Review Report Card

I went to Dr Vazquez after almost a year of having a lot of shortness of breath. I was using a rescue inhaler several times a day plus I was on a medicated breathing machine several times a day I Received the best testing for shortness of breath that I had ever had and for someone in their late 60s who has had asthma their whole life, that’s saying a lot! Dr Vazquez discovered that the COPD medication that I was on was not what I needed to be taking because I didn’t have COPD. It was my lifelong asthma that had kicked up. With a change in medication I was weaned off of the medicated breathing machine and in the last Almost 2 years after starting with Dr Vazquez, I have only used a breathing machine with a really bad cold and bronchitis attack once in all that time. I rarely ever have to use the rescue inhaler. Therefore, I highly recommend Dr Vazquez as the brilliant lung doctor he is! He gave me back a normal life!

Have seen twice for lung transplant follow up. Not my main transplant dr. Did not listen to any of my concerns, brushed them off at first visit. At second appt, told him I felt like he didn’t listen at prior appt, didn’t make me feel heard about my rejection and concerns. He apologized that I felt that way (not for his actions but that I had those feelings). I then asked about a specific type of medicine and he refused to hear it and put me on something totally opposite. I’ve been basically living at the hospital my entire life and know my body. He prescribed me something I don’t need. I’ve already had a second opinion agreeing with me. His ego is a huge problem and he refuses to listen. I will refuse any future appts if he is the doctor in clinic that day.

From the moment I arrived I started receiving outstanding care and attention. I refer to it as "The Miracle Factory". Performing miracles and saving lives everyday as if it's routine. I can't express my appreciation enough to all the Doctors, nurses, technical and support staff here. They function as a well oiled machine. Thank you all! God Bless!

My husband was given excellent care by Dr Vazquez. He was caring and always listened to our concerns and was always available to meet his needs. He is very knowledgeable in the care of a post-lung transplant patient. Any faults in the care are due to the UNMH system. Doctors are not given nurses and going through a Medical Assistant to reach the doctor, ask a question or get a call returned is very frustrating. Medical Assistants should not be triaging patient needs.
