Tulika Katyal's Online Review Report Card

I am leaving this review to chime in on the issues with communication other reviewers have mentioned, especially when it comes to prescription medication. I don't know if it's her office staff or her, but she will not answer messages or requests for medication. You will not hear yes or no. Actually, that's not true: on two separate occasions I had her staff tell me she was ordering something for me, then she never would. When I would follow up, I would receive no response. My physician literally ghosted me. This is completely unacceptable from a doctor. I cannot trust my care to Dr. Katyal and her staff, and you shouldn't either.

Dr K is always compassionate, thorough and professional! I've been seeing her for over 5 yrs and so happy she is the head of my team!! I could go to someone closer to me, but, the drive is worth it!!

I have never rated a doctor before, but I had such a bad experience I wish I had read these reviews first. My doctor left Mercy so a receptionist referred her to me. I have multiple health problems some quite serious. Two times she said she called a anti nausea medication for me. The pharmacist said she didn’t. I have a partially collapsed lung, then I injured my ribs on the other side, I called her office and got no response. I went to a mercy go health they Did an X-ray and found a nodule on my right lung and said I needed a ct scan as soon as possible. I called her office left a message and got no response about it. I am scared as I have no doctor, and it takes months to get in to a new one. I am still trying to find a doctor that will help me. I am shocked after what I experienced and what I have read here that she is still practicing at Mercy. Laura O’Connor

I would personally not recommend Dr. Tulika Katyal, MD. I do not feel like she listened to me during my visits. She had asked me to follow up via messages and in her responses, it did not feel like she had read what I wrote. She's been inconsistent in following up and it does not feel like she is truly listening to my concerns. I am giving 2 stars because her nurse, Billy, is amazing and so sweet. He appears to care very much and I am sad to leave him. Sadly, I simply cannot continue to feel like my doctor is not listening to me or even following up.

Best doctor I’ve ever been too. She is genuine and explains things well. I’ve had her as a primary care provider for over 2 years now. I have bipolar disorder and she has helped improve my life tremendously in that time. I would highly recommend her.

Very attentive Dr. cares for patient and tries to find solutions to the issue without pushing lots of meds. Great personality and very courteous.

I love doctor Katyal, she takes her time with me, she treats me as if she’s known me my whole life, and genuinely cares about me, I’ve been to other offices and never seen the same doctor. I highly recommend her, she is awesome!

I have been trying to get my parents to go to a different doctor for over a year bc the communication and care received at this office is terrible. However, they stay w her bc she is close and convenient to their home, and it is also very hard to find a new pcp without waiting months. She will not order things that very obviously should be ordered in certain situations and does the bare minimum “work up” when they have problems. My parents trust that she is doing the appropriate things bc she is a physician and that is her job, but being in healthcare I know that there should be more done. She is not attentive to patients and their needs, especially when some are not as health literate as others.

Getting a return phone call from these people would be a medical miracle.
