Dr. Uhlemann has retired.

Very disappointed!! I would have been a new patient. My appt was at 10:45. Was taken back to the room on time. They took blood pressure and left the room. 50 min later I still was waiting on the Dr. Put on my cloths and left!! If someone would have at least come back after 30 mins just stating he was running behind or some kind of update it would have been different!! I will never go back, so now looking for a new dr again. Appts are made for a reason.

Sorry for this long post... In November 2019 I noticed an irregular mole on my back. I called every dermatologist recommended to me. No one was taking new patients. Then COVID! By the end of May when the world started living again, I went to Google and Dr Uhlemann’s name popped up. I made the call fully expecting a “no we aren’t taking new patients!” I explained my situation/mole to the person who answered the phone. She put me on hold for a minute, came back and said, come in June 10! FINALLY a doctor that was actually seeing new patients!! When I arrived, the staff was friendly, the nurse was wonderful and Dr. Uhelmann was amazing! he explained very thoroughly what he was doing, what he saw, and I never felt rushed through the appointment. He answered all my questions honestly and gently, even threw in a little humor to lighten my anxiety. He was very thorough, scraped the mole and sent it to Washington university pathology. A week later Dr Uhlemannn personally called me to tell me the bad news. I could hear in his voice how sad he was that he had to tell me malignant melanoma. He was so compassionate and kind. Before he even made the dreaded call, He and his staff coordinated with an oncology surgeon and got me set up with her, they coordinated with financial aid to help with all the bills that were coming my way. He went over and above to help me so I could live! I owe my life to him and his remarkable staff for everything they did to get me seen right away, to be thorough in their examination and treatment, to go the extra steps they went to create a team of doctors for me. He is kind, thoughtful, gentle and compassionate. Do not let nasty reviews deter you from contacting his office. If you have an irregular mole, do NOT wait!! Make the call! It could save your life! I will be forever grateful to Dr. Uhlemann and his staff for everything they did for me, and did with compassion and care 💗

I am a new patient and my first experience was not good. I arrived 7 minutes early for my 11:00am appointment and checked in. Thirty minutes later, I was still sitting there with no explanation. When I finally went to the desk to ask why it was almost 30 minutes past my appointment time, they said he was running behind. When asked how much longer before I would be seen, they said at least another 30 minutes. That is a whole hour late! Had I not inquired, I would have just been sitting there. Its unacceptable that doctors don't have to keep a timely schedule. I'm sure if I were an hour late they would have charged me and cancelled my appointment. I will not be rescheduling for a doctor who does not think his patient's time is as valuable as his own.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Uhlemann yesterday and he was wonderful. He was kind, very thorough, and I would highly recommend him.

Excellent doctor I've been going to for about 20 yrs. He spends a lot of time with patients and you never feel rushed. Also, he is an interesting person and friendly! Highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable in his field. Prompt, good bedside manners, and spends time with you. Would definitely go back if needed.

Dr John in an elder person with about ( 46 ) years of EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE in the JOB he does as a DERMATOLOGIST . With that said I think in that time frame he has SEEN - HEARD - & PERFORMED dermatology A number ONE . That is why I see him & tell my friends & any one who ask me for a Dr in this field about my experience . THANK YOU

Yes, he is an older guy. Yes he does come across a bit like an older guy.... but he knows what is what. Helped me immensely without a problem. One of the most time giving and honest Dr. I have seen in a long time.

Ihave seen this doctor for some years for several conditions. First of all, he is educational and practical. He told me things that other doctors never mention. He is kind. He gives back to the community at large and I admire his ethics.
