My PCP sent a referral to Dr Buchalter & their practice said they will call you once the referral is received. I was in IOP & having a really hard time. The IOP thought a lot of her & were counting on her to help me with my follow up care. I finally called after not hearing from them after 1.5 weeks. The rude person on the phone said they only take referrals from Mercy PCP’s! Mine is SSM. Wow…. No one could have taken 60 seconds to call & tell me, my PCP OR the IOP I was in?! Outrageous way to deal with someone obviously having a need for psychiatric care. I’m quite certain they would not want their loved one treated this way. Luckily I eventually moved on & found a caring practice with great follow through.
