List of MIchael Richardson's Reviews
Front desk ladies are great. Cynthia, the lady on the voicemail is the kindest lady ever to speak to. So are the other 2 that I know working with her. She's even supportive of me of my situation. The wait times beats any office. Not a long wait at all. At most, 10 minutes - 20 minutes ~ give or take. The phone calls are pretty much 5-10 minutes ~ at most 15 minutes. Most doctors have a lot of people in the waiting room but because that doctor is so efficient, no one really is waiting hours behind their appointment. Honestly, he's incredibly knowledgeable about HIV medicine & care (especially for the LGBT), hrt, trans health, and general family doctor medicine. He helped me find the right medicine when I was hit with the worst flu this year. He also helped me when I had faced a risk of HIV exposure by getting me pEP (2 pill version). He also is reliable in terms of being transparent about all possible side effects, risks, and changes from taking HRT for trans guys. He's also so kind and validates me as a transguy even while I am in the queer-questioning, name-finding stage, and gender discovering stage. He's doing his best to understand which most other doctors would not even try to sympathize/learn with their trans patients. This doctor lets me have a voice when he feels I know myself enough about my own psychology. He's also protective when my dad threw a fit at his office. He checked in on me afterward to see how I was. Honestly, he might not be the doctor who puts his certifications and honors on his office walls. He doesn't have to given how great he treats his patients. My UTI is gone. My dysphoria has improved so much after T. Not many side effects either after both medications because he's so good with checking the dosing. He recommended me the best covid vaccine that was safe and I had no side effects besides a sore arm and a minor chill after the 2nd dose. He also dealt with me professionally during that time when I was mentally burnt out and dysfunctional. I lost my marbles due to all the psychological abuse and he patiently just dealt with my aftermath trying to see what needs to be done. Honestly, he may be young but he's great even during the pandemic when he's just got a medical messenger and phone option with you. In-person, I feel safe around him as an FTM as he so far hasn't triggered my C-PTSD. He allows me to say this, nothing beats having a gay doctor who knows firsthand how LGBT people feel towards regular healthcare. He is also an educator for other doctors on LGBT healthcare (especially trans healthcare). He's also an advocate for trans people at a lot of government-level things to fight for us / be a voice for us to get trans healthcare needs covered by ohip+. There's so much greatness he has as a doctor. I don't know much about him as a person but he really is the best humane doctor ever. Very professional, very caring; can't get better health care. Honestly, he's superb and even on the phone - his diagnosing accuracy and his treatments almost always fix the health concerns when treatable. My previous doctor who was an old Asian U of T MD, at another location just referred patients everywhere and gave out sample pharma products. Dr. Richardson is an even better doctor than him. Honestly, the specialists or testing centers Dr. Richardson refers to treat me so well just like he does. I'd highly recommend him as a doctor. He's also good with ODSP referrals and writing medical letters for your school/work needs. I don't know what else he does but in my 2.5 years of experience with him, I wouldn't leave him as his patient. However, he does go on vacations often because he needs it. Him not being around at any given time is the only thing you have to be okay with. He's usually in on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. As an educated student in basic health, he's top-notch. If you need someone for specifically female body-related check-up things (like PAP smears), he has a fellow lady doctor who does it and he's okay with you doing it somewhere else as I did. Can't say if this is great for every person, but lgbtq+ people, women, and most men for sure will benefit from his care. He definitely provides quality beyond expectations.
This is a physician who is smart, compassionate and honest I am pleased to have him manage my healthcare.
Best Dr. I drive an hour to see him!!!
I have been using Dr Richardson for several years as my primary. Dr Richardson is an excellent family doctorand is always professional, courteous, and respectful. I have several serious medical conditions that need constant monitoring and am disabled. The care that Dr Richardson has given meof life I am grateful and would highly recommend him as a family physician for your entire family.
Have been seeing Dr. Richardson for several years now and he is always very nice, down to earth, listens to what you have to say and is honest. After my last doctor moved it took me awhile to find a doctor I was comfortable with until meeting Dr. Richardson . Can not say enough good things about him and would highly recommend.
He's awesome. Always makes you feel comfortable.
I have been a patient of Dr Richardson for over 10 years. He always listens and treats me with respect.
Very knowledgeable and accommodating to me as a trans patient. Super accessible for booking appointments and no long wait times in the waiting room.
Dr. Richardson is one of the best docs that I have ever seen (and I am 66...). He always takes his time, listens to everything with great attention, makes suggestions in ways as to not offend or make me uncomfortable, and is very thorough. So fortunate that I found him after my long-time doc retired!
Rare combination of an easy to access GP (have always managed to see him within a day or two if there's something urgent) and knowledge of trans medicine. Responds to queries quickly by email during COVID. When something goes beyond his competence/knowledge (e.g. post surgical complications), he's very well connected to specialists. Recommended without any qualifications.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
