List of John J Budd's Reviews
I have been a long standing patient since 2011. In the past I felt the care was good and the staff listened in the last year the care has not been good. The PAs are rushed to see patients in 15 minutes and do not listen or conduct good exams . The documentation by the PA is not accurate and conflicts with information provided. Then the information is not relayed to Dr budd correctly . There has been a high turnover in staff. They push all complaints off on multiple consultants and then argue about consultant opinions. I have two diseases and they have become hyper focused on my rheumatoid and then have ignored my lupus ! My records are a mess! One note says I had my Covid booster and the next note says I refused the vaccine another note says I failed a drug I never took .. my feet joints have not been checked in over a year and I had to demand to be sent to therapy because I can’t walk and my gait is off ! I won’t return to this chaos. I spend hours coordinating my own referrals
My experience with Dr Budd was very unpleasant and he does not meet the standards of the profession. On my last visit with Dr. Budd when I asked him a very reasonable question on some diagnostic test, he was not happy with my question and told me "No, you are not going to get the test. If you want test go to Washington University and go now." He basically tried to kick me out of his office when I simply asked about the prospect of a diagnostic test; that is not the behavior or professionalism that a PCP should demonstrate with their patients. Over the years when I have visited Dr. Budd, I have seen a pattern of behaviors. He won't listen or let you speak. When I ask him about my several chronic conditions that I have had for many years (and that are all treated at the Mercy facility) he is not aware of any on my chronic conditions or have the record of them. As for the office staff, I called for straight 2 days to talk about my lab tests and was not able to speak to anyone or have any information on how my lab test looks like.
I took an appointment and the front-desk staff said that I need to meet his PA first and then doctor will visit at the end. My appointment is for today at 9:30. I drove for 30 mins and reached the place at 9:40. I already filled the paperwork that was mailed to me. Submitted my paperwork at front-desk, gave my insurance and id cards... they took the temperature, scanned the docs... made me sit/wait for 15 mins and then they said since I was late by 10 mins the doctor can't see me for today.. They should have told me the same when I first walked in. Poor management.
Dr Budd is an excellent Rheumatologist. Hes really helped me get my issues under control. There are changes he needs to make with his staff. That's why he only got 4 stars
I just saw Dr. Budd and loved him but his staff on the other hand was not professional. When I first came in 3 of the front desk ladies where gather around talking and laughing about going out last night. I needed blood work and asked the doctors nurse if possible could I get my other blood work from my heart specialist taken in their Quest lab and was told that I could. When I went to the front desk to check out the receptionist said no way could I get both done there because Dr. Budd is the only doctor that can use Quest Diagnostic at that location. The receptionist ran down the hall to the Quest lab and saying they can't do that. Very unprofessional. Once I get to the lab I ask the lady if I can get my blood work at another lab and is it possible for me to get both test there. Another lady that was not drawing my blood stepped into the room to scold me about the matter. The lady's tone of voice is loud and she says no one comes in my house telling me what to do. I never told anyone what to do but asked if it could be done and i was told yes. I'm shocked professional would speak like this. I began to yell back at her for scolding me like a child. Before long someone brought Dr. Budd to the lab to attempt to settle the commotion. Then Dr. Budd explained the rules that Quest lab could only do orders for his practice. I told him that is fine. I would highly recommend the doctor but not his staff. If only they would had talked to me in a kind professional manner then things would had been different. One thing to mention too I was told only this lab could do Dr. Budd's lab work. Hopefully next week when I return things won't be as stressful.
My first visit with Dr. Budd - I found him to be direct, knowledgeable and efficient. He personally called me the morning after my visit to review lab results and suggest lifestyle changes. If you are looking for a physician to chit-chat with you, he's not your guy. But if you want a capable and caring primary care physician he seems great based on this first visit.
What outstanding service and knowledge! Great staff and organization also!
I’m a newly diagnosed patient and was referred to dr Budd and I’m so impressed with him and his staff They are awesome and very caring I would definitely recommend this dr and staff to anyone
I have been a patient with Dr. Budd and Beatrice Bernhart, PA-C for nearly 10 years. They have always been thorough, attentive and friendly. I like the tag team approach, with exams from both the PA and the Doctor. Its like getting a second opinion for the same price. Both Beatrice and Dr. Budd always listen to and address my concerns. I never feel like I'm being rushed through my visit. Nearly every visit is followed by a trip to the lab down the hall to ensure everything is going well and there are no problems caused by my meds. I'm also a patient at the infusion center and the staff there are great too!
Michael, his PA was very nice and helpful. I had to wait forever to see Dr. Budd, who just repeated what Michael said. I will not be returning.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
