List of Bryan D. Eck's Reviews
Dr. Eck has treated me and several of my family members. He did my screening colonoscopy and was very thorough, kind, and professional. All of the surgery center staff were great. He did a hernia repair for my son, and we had the same experience with him and the surgery center. He did an upper endoscopy for my wife, and, again, we had the same experience. I would recommend him to anyone without reservation.
If I could give this man negative stars I would. My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2017 at the age of 34. In 2015 we went to Dr.Eck because he was having obvious symptoms of something wrong in his intestines; bright red blood in his stool, digestive distress, pain when using the bathroom and after, and he'd lost almost 20 pounds in only a month. Dr.Eck refused to do any kind of investigative work, told us it was an ulcer and that my husband was too young to get a colonoscopy or have anything seriously wrong with him. Fast forward two years; we're back at Eck's because he's the only surgeon in our network that can do scopes. My husband is almost in organ failure due to blood loss, his iron was at a 6. After the procedure Eck comes out to talk to me and tells me they were unable to do a full scope because of a minor blockage, a tumor about the size of a golf ball he says. Gives me literally no further information and tells me to go to Springfield to get more tests done. My husband was so bloated and uncomfortable after his scope he threw up the drink he was given and couldn't keep anything down for about 4 hours. We did end up going to Springfield and met with the best doctor I've ever experienced, Dr.Brooks, who is sadly retired now. Dr.Brooks informed us that it was in fact cancer and that the tumor was actually the size of a baseball. He successfully removed a foot and a half of my husband's large intestine. Dr.Eck didn't even have the balls to tell us it was cancer even though his lab did the test on it. He's a despicable doctor and has permanently scarred my trust and faith in the medical community. He would've let my husband bleed to death internally if I hadn't made him get his iron levels checked at the local Health Department. On top of all of this, we were billed almost $4000 for the procedure to be done at the surgery center. After paying it, we received another bill for Eck's services for about $3000, completely separate from what we had already forked out. In total we paid that man close to $8000. Mercy in Springfield knocked our surgery and 5 day hospital stay down to $9000 for us. This man is a con artist with a degree and a straight up hack of a doctor. Don't let him work on you.
Dr. Eck is the best surgeon I have ever had. My soreness was gone in very few days. My scars are barely visible after just 2 weeks. I feel better than I have in years because of him. He's great, and I highly recommend him everyone. :-)
I worked in the OR with Dr Eck and can say without hesitation that he is the best surgeon I ever worked with. I would completely trust him to perform any surgery on me. Excellent surgeon!
Dr. Eck is a MAGNIFICENT surgeon. Why he wastes his time practicing in West Plains, MO, instead of a large city where he could make the money that he is worth, is beyond me. I know several members of my family and I are extremely lucky that he is here. He is most trustworthy and has a great personality. He is light and playful with his patient and is a real comfort to be around.
Dr. Eck is very smart and always professional. He cares a great deal about his patients and always has their best intrest at heart. I work with him at OMC and think he really knows his stuff! If I or my family ever needed medical attention, He would be the one I would request!!!
Brisk, efficient, willing to explain and illustrate. Maintains careful watch after surgery until the patient is released back to general practitioner.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
