Diversicare Of Brookhaven's Online Review Report Card

Definitely not the proper facility for cardiac patients. The cardiologist expressed opposition to using this facility in the future after examination of the patient. This isn't really unique to Diversicare as studies show that cardiac patients who are sent to skilled nursing facilities after hospitalization have significantly increased mortality due to the lack of ability to monitor and manage their unique needs. The facility itself is way overdue for a renovation. It has that old building smell and the ceiling is falling in. It feels like time travel back to the late 60s. The facility seemed as clean as an old building could be and it does not smell like urine or fecal matter. My 6'2" 240 lb loved one was cramped into a small room with a twin size bed and a roommate. The bed was against the wall in a corner right next to a smelly curtain. The discomfort caused panic attacks that have since stopped after leaving the facility. The staff was accommodating and good with working with a difficult patient... A very difficult patient. My statements about the facility and the inadequacy of SNFs for cardiac patients have nothing to do with the staff. I am immensely grateful to the staff for their care for my loved one while at Diversicare. This facility itself, however, is dark and depressing and an hour away; we would never have chosen it but was forced to because it was in network and there were no other options available.

This place needs to be shutdown..Mistreatment of a patient..Letting lying in urine soaked clothes and bedding..Cover up Puke with a pillow case and not cleaning up patient or bedding..Letting staff members get by with talking to patient as in Get up and do things for yourself when patient is paralyzed on one side and can't even raise self out of bed..Social worker sending false information when patient asked to be removed from here.So much unjustified uncaring people..Seems only out for the money..Check this facility out..Everything from Bed to equipment outdated..Looks like from back in the 60's or so. It's very depressing..No window to even look out of and offering of active is a joke when patient isn't able to sit in wheelchair that is to small and causing them so much pain

Its a warm & very friendly place. I love the smiles that greets me. The ones from workers as well as patients... And another factor is that it smells AWESOME!!!!!
