Robert A. Desantis's Online Review Report Card

I do not recommend him under any circumstances. He is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. You get Dr. Jekyll in the clinic and Mr. Hyde when it's time to deliver your baby. He disrespected my husband throughout the pregnancy. Then delivery day was literally a nightmare. They performed an UNNECESSARY c-section without getting mine or my husband's consent. They literally took me to the operating room and started anesthesia without telling me what was going on. If I hadn't already had an epidural, I would have got off the gurney and shoved them out of my way and demanded another doctor.I had previously used him for 11 years and never saw this side of him. He is not the doctor he is played up to be. My recovery was awful on top of all this. Everyone says he is a good surgeon, but he did an awful job on me. My incision is over 6 inches when the standard c-section is 4 inches. It is also stitched up in 2 different ways that created an awful scar. Please stay away from this doctor and this hospital!EDIT: In response to the comment from the "page owner," I did contact them and nothing was done about it. I gave a detailed report and it was swept under the rug.

I used him for 11 years. Biggest mistake of my life. He acted super nice for regular checkups and even ended up treating me for hypothyroidism (the only good thing he did!). When I got pregnant, he was totally different. Hardly saw him throughout the pregnancy. He ignored my husband and acted like he didn't want him there. He induced me at 39 weeks (for no medical reason). If I had known what I know now, I wouldn't have let him. I was having an amazing labor until 9 cm. He claimed there was a prolapsed cord and took me for an emergency c-section WITHOUT MY CONSENT or my husband's. We were not in distress. He then lied in my medical records. My new doctor even agreed that I did not need the c-section. The baby should have been delivered because he was crowning on the way to the operating room. They physically held him in! He was rude and unprofessional after the delivery and in the follow-ups. He refused to answer our questions. He still hasn't released all of my medical records even though I've made multiple requests. He wants to be the center of attention, and does not care about his patient's emotional well-being. He ruined the birth of my only child by the way he and his staff acted. He's a horrible human being.

I love Dr. DeSantis. When we moved to this area I didn't think I would be able to find an OBGYN to compete with the one I left behind, but I did. This man is awesome!!!!!

He is one of the worst in the field of OBGYN. Nurses on the floor hate him, so bad they have a nick name for him. He his self centered, it has to be about him, everything is an emergency or he turns it into one so he can feed his ego. All you every hear is I did this or I did that. I delivered 5000 babies, I've done 10,000 surgeries. He will keep stuff from you, then say the nurses should have told you or other doctors. It is never his fault. He has a god complex, and to be a hero. If you don't buy what he selling you get a guilt trip. When that doesn't work he becomes a spoiled little boy. No I wouldn't waste my time with his egotistical self.

Not a good doctor. Has to be seen, has to be about him. God and hero complex. Then does tell any one in family what has happened or whats going on. If something goes wrong it's not his fault.

Likes to play hero, leaves patient and family in dark about what's going on. Everyone is at fault but him when he makes a mistake. Likes drama to much.

I was a patient of Dr Desantis at Tripler Army Medical center during his residency. I may have been his first case. He did a terrific job in performing my surgery. It was September 19, 1992, 27 yrs 5 mos. Thank you Dr Desantis.

I’ve used Dr DeSantis for years, from my issues trying to conceive, my pregnancies, the birth of my children, several female issues that resulted in a hysterectomy and now for my hormone therapy. He and his staff have always been professional and caring. He is a great OBGYN doctor and has a fantastic staff.

I will just say I will not be going back to him nor would I recommend him for anybody
