List of Joseph Kwentus's Reviews
Dr Kwentas is a great doctor… He helped me during a difficult time & has kept me doing great for close to a decade! Not sure what the attacks in the reviews are about but they seem to be personal, vindictive & written by the same person!
I've never met a doctor more uncaring and negligent than this man. My stay at the facility he's over was absolutely horrible. To say that it's more like a prison is being very kind. His staff is rude and clearly racist. They all should be investigated.
My brother was put under his care for a few different reasons. While under the care of Dr. Kwentus, my brothers mental health got progressively worse, and Kwentus didn’t even talk to my brother until the day my mom called the HORRIBLE clinic to say that she was taking my brother out of that place. I would not recommend that place to anyone, or that doctor. My brother wanted to go to his place after he got out just to go say some nasty stuff to this doctor. But held himself from doing it because it’s not right.
Wonder if the Mississippi Department of Psychiatry would like to know how you got most of your land from your patients?
This doctor is COMPLETELY unprofessional. We put a request in for 6 days in a row and this quack never called. This goofey looking idiot obviously is a narcissistic liar who could care less. This is our child. These are ALL someone’s child and to completely ignore concerned parents requests for updates and inquiry is reckless and dangerous. He obviously feels he is untouchable. We will be moving forward with legal action against this clown. DO NOT put your loved one in his care, it would be a huge mistake unless you simply don’t need to be contacted, involved.
IMO, his lack of empathy and his display of knowing what emotions are is alarming.
This man is genuinely and without question the worst doctor and human being I have ever encountered, and I have reason to believe he maliciously attempted to worsen my condition while under his care. I’m going to elaborate, so if you’re considering going to him please god read this, and DEFINITELY do not ever go to him if you have the option not to. I was under the care of Dr. Kwentus in a psychiatric facility I was put in for a suicide attempt. While there, Kwentus; who holds board certifications in psychosomatic medicine and clinical psychopharmacology; somehow thought it was appropriate to prescribe me 40mgs of Adderall. For reference, at the time of treatment I was 15 years old — the recommended starting dose of Adderall for adolescents is 5mgs, corroborated by two other psychiatrists I saw after the fact. 40mgs is the MAXIMUM dose of Adderall, recommended only for those who have been taking Adderall for a long time, not someone like me who had never been on a stimulant before in my life. He did this while fully aware I have a tachycardia heart condition. Not only did he put me on this medication, the nurses at the facility forced me to take a third dose after I had had a resting heart rate of well over 100 bpm for two days straight, and was experiencing chest pain, extreme shortness of breath, fatigue, and constant heart palpitations. (all early signs of a heart attack, which none of the nurses attempted to treat despite my literal begging for help) This alone would just make him an incompetent and dangerous doctor, but he also behaved completely inappropriately to both me, my regular treatment team, and my family. While on the phone with my parents and me in the room, he screamed (both in volume and tone) at all three of us simply because my parents requested he be respectful when talking about me, as the way he was insisting on referring to me was making both me and them extremely uncomfortable and upset. He did the same when my therapist requested he respect me as well. For my own privacy I will not say what he was doing; but I will say it is expressly against the proper medical treatment of a disorder I am diagnosed with, which he was fully aware of. He encouraged the other patients at the facility to verbally harass me during their private sessions, (I found this out through another patient who was thankfully kind enough to defend me and inform me of the situation,) he attempted to convince my regular treatment team that I was not mentally capable enough to proceed with a medical procedure which was and continues to be completed medically necessary, and the staff under him at the facility also insisted on harassing me, one member even outright telling me when i expressed concerns about the way he treated me in front of my parents “Trust me honey, your parents don't care.” (Direct quote, which is also undeniably false as my parents were very obviously upset and continue to be upset to this day about the way he treated me.) If you managed to make it through this entire thing, then I very VERY much hope you reconsider him as your doctor. This man deserves to be fired and stripped of his medical licensure.

One of the best doctors I ever had. If I was still in Mississippi, he'd still be my guy.
What an inconsiderate excuse for a doctor. He’s not fit to practice medicine. He is rude and makes a diagnosis that an LPN could make. He is NOT knowledgeable in his area. He makes your mental health worse.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
