Not only did "Dr." Brien cause more pain to my injured shoulder but also lied on the medical report. He accused me of faking my injury. When I did have surgery by a reputable orthopedic surgeon, it was discovered that I had dislocated my shoulder in my accident and then popped it back into place. The bicep tendons were so torn they had to be cut, and an anchor had to be placed in my bicep muscle to attach it to the bone. I also had a full labral tear. Dr. Brien works for Workers Comp and writes whatever they want him to write. Honestly, I'm not even sure he writes his reports, but just signs whatever is sent to him by WC. I know of another person injured at work and sent to Brien. Brien told that patient that over 80% of his report was already complete before he even got there. WTH? He said he had none of the records or images taken of that patient's injuries although WC and their attorney assured him all the records were sent. His wife had to get on the phone with hospitals and doctors offices to have the records/images sent. Brien also kept his laptop open and facing that patient, and Brien appeared to have a webcam allowing someone else to watch the exam. (I'm no expert, but I believe that's a HIPAA violation. He kept leaving the room and coming back every time my friend answered a question. What was he doing - consulting with the person paying the bill? I guess only he can say, but I am pretty sure he never will. Dr. Brien should have his license revoked. He is a joke. Dr Brien and his staff we excellent providers!! Couldn’t go be asked for better bedside manner and explanations of what to expect . If you’re looking for a kind, compassionate, honest surgeon, look no further. Thank you to his nurse, Julie as well !!
My 16 year old son tore his ACL and Dr. Brien was his surgeon. One moment you have a healthy son competing at the top of his game, the next you are facing serious injury and a lot of unknowns. We were incredibly impressed with Dr. Brien's detailed professionalism, quiet intelligence, and genuine concern for our son. Dr. Brien involved us in critical decisions, gave clear guidance at to different approaches and as a result we never felt "talked down to" or that Br Bien did not have time to spend with us. Dr, Brien did everything to make sure we were comfortable with the course of care chosen and that the course of care fit our goals as family. Dr. Brien's nurse Julie is great as well. Everyone at the Capitol Ortho team were responsive and made use feel welcome at a very bewildering time. I cannot express how pleased we have been with Dr. Brien during this difficult time for our family and I would recommend him without reservation to anyone seeking the care of an orthopedic surgeon.
Dr. Brien is empathetic and listens. He is honestly the best oethopedic doctor I've ever had.
I go to Dr. Brien for all orthopedic issues. He is a wonderful doctor that explains your condition in a caring professional way. He will take all of the time that you need to consult with him and answer all of your questions so that you are comfortable in his care. I highly recommend him to others.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
