List of Eric Wolfson's Reviews
Dr.Wolfson and his staff are the greatest, 3to 4 hours after surgery was sitting up on chair hour later walking and going up stairs inn hospital without help all sciatica pain gone and my pain was bad! Great surgeon, thank you and your staff.
I recently had a fusion of L4-L5 performed by Dr. Wolfson. I can't say enough nice things about him. I found him to be very personable and despite what others might say, empathetic. However, he is direct, but that is something I appreciate in my health care providers. His staff is also very friendly and efficient. I have been very pleased with the outcome of my surgery. When I first saw him over 2 years ago, we discussed surgery and I requested that we go about treatment as conservatively as possible, to which he agreed. I found out since that being conservative is his forte. After physical therapy, epidurals, and ablations, it got to the point that surgery was necessary. I have had zero problems with Dr. Wolfson either personally or professionally. He has been absolutely great as has been his staff. I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring neurosurgery.
I did the procedure he suggested and it didn’t work. Still in pain.
I was loosing feelings in both legs. I first seen DR Volters and he had a MRI done . After the MRI he immediately referred me to See DR Wolfson. DR Wolfson went over the MRI and showed me the problem. My disk and Laminate bone was pushing on my spinal cord. He did the surgery and it was like WOW!!! The day after the surgery I felt like a new person. DR Wolfson did a fantastic job. I’m still recovering from the surgery but the strength is now back in my legs. DR Volters and DR Wolfson is a good team. Also every nurse and employees at Gulfport Memorial Hospital treated me with respect.
They (Nurse Pract. & Dr) were in such a hurried state, Dr Wofson didn't even sit down, he was out the door just as swiftly as he'd come in. I left there in tears. I was made to feel that at that particular time they had somewhere else that they'd rather had been
Very highly recommend for back surgery
Dr. Eric H. Wolfson and his team and staff were very professional. I needed a Laminectomy and he did an amazing surgery on me. I went to the hospital in a wheelchair and was able to stand right after the surgery. ????
UPDATE!!!!! After being sent to Pain Management for 3 steroid injections from May until August, I was assured that I would not be going back to them because it was obviously not helping. But when I returned to Dr Wolfson for what I believed would be the next step, I was informed by him that he was going to send me back to Pain Management. Enough was enough!!! I told him ( and later, his staff) that I would not be returning. I proceeded to gather my records (which Memorial was most accommodating and polite). After doing some further investigating, I chose Hattiesburg Clinic (Dr. Clatterbuck). By the time I got there and spent time with his NP Jennifer (McCrary) who was extremely well informed and quite knowledgeable, Dr Clatterbuck had already reviewed my history, explained that I had a bulging disc and the bulge was resting on a nerve and that is what was causing the numbness and pain down my leg. WHY THE HEAD OF NEUROSURGERY AT GULFPORT MEMORIAL COULD NOT EXPLAIN THIS TO ME, I DON’T UNDERSTAND, but I’m certainly am glad I chose to go to Hattiesburg. I have since had surgery and (knock on wood) seem to be pain free for the first time since April!!!
I had severe headaches coming from my neck. I had arthritic fused vertebrae and a bad disk. I tried pain management and it helped for a short while. Then I went to Dr. Eric Wolfson. After all the MRI's and x ray's He talked to me about surgery. I really didn't want to do it. Now that it is over by four months, each day is a little better. I was told in the beginning it could take a year to get full recovery. The best part is as soon as it was done the headaches went away and have not returned. I am very sore in my neck but each day it's better. I really am happy I had it done. Done in July. 2020 Now about Dr Wolfson he is a surgeon and a darn good one. He is not a hang out and talk about kids and pets. He will do his job and do it well then move on to help someone else. His nurse practitioner will be the one that's reports to him on your recovery. So don't expect to see him after surgery unless there is a problem You could not be in better hands with these people. Loved them all.
I was referred to Dr. Wolfson for a long needed C5-6 cervical fusion. Prior to surgery, I had difficulty holding a pen to write and my writing was disorganized. The day after surgery, I could grasp a pen and sign my discharge papers. My strength is improving in both hands and buttoning a shirt is not an exasperating struggle. I wish I would have had this surgical intervention years ago.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
