My husband and I had our appointments as new patients today. The office staff was excellent, from the front desk all the way back to x-ray technician, and Dr Thriffiley and his wife. We we very pleased with how thorough , complete, not missing any details both of our exams were. Thankfully we only each one needed steroid injections for our issues. Dr Thriffileydelivered them well ! We are so happy to have made this connection with this clinic today. We highly reccommend.
I can not think of a single thing that could have been improved upon with my experience at Dr Thriffley’s. The entire staff went above and beyond. They were able that get me in to be seen, and in for a much needed surgery, a full week sooner than the biggest orthopedic center on the coast. I feel like I have received the best care possible, with the most pleasant medical staff I have ever been around!
Great experience with Dr. Thriffiley. Went in for a painful trigger thumb and was told that a cortisone shot could help and possibly cure my symptoms. I received the shot and after just a week, my trigger thumb is now pain and symptomatic free!
Unfortunately, I have had the pleasure of needing Dr. Thriffiley's expertise on a few occasions! That being said, I couldn't ask for a better doctor to handle all the different issues I have had. He has taken care of my shoulder surgery, helped with the degenerative disc disease in my neck, helped tend to my torn ligament in my foot and the shattered wrist I am currently dealing with. He and his staff are wonderful and very good at what they do. I have definitely been blessed to have such a wonderful medical staff taking care of me!
By far the best orthopedic on the coast. Fast visits but he takes the time to explain everything and listen to your concerns and questions. The staff is hands down the best on the coast very friendly and professional.
Dr. Thriffiley and his staff were very professional and friendly. He assessed my symptoms, made a diagnosis and prescribed a treatment. Their office is professional and nice. I can confidently recommend this doctor and staff.
Was very thorough with examination and explained everything in a manner well understood. I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone.
I don't know why some people only gave him 1 star, but my experience with him was great!!! He knows his stuff, he has a pleasant personality, and takes time to explain/answer questions. If I had to give one con, it would be that appointments kind of fill in quick, so if you need to see him expeditiously, it might not happen.
This is going to be a long story, but worth the read.Back in January, I started experiencing pain in my right shoulder. It kept getting worse and worse so I went to Bienville Orthopedics and got an MRI. The MRI revealed I had a torn rotator cuff as the result of a bone spur the size of a thumb coming off of my acromium and bone spurs on my distal clavicle. Every time I raised my arm, these bone spurs acted like a saw across my tendons, making it tear worse and worse. We scheduled surgery, but one week prior to it I was informed that Bienville Orthopedics was no longer in my insurance network. I called my insurance company and gave me a list of orthopedic doctors in my network. James Thriffiley was one of the doctors on the list and I was able to get an appointment right away.I presented him with my MRI disc, the reports, and all of the records from Bienville Orthopedics. I explained the situation I was in with my scheduled surgery and my insurance issues. He proceeded to tell me that he wanted to send me to physical therapy for several weeks first before discussing surgery. I asked him out right "How is physical therapy going to help a torn rotator cuff that's the result of these bone spurs?" And he said, quote, "I don't base my decisions off of what other doctors have said." I asked him if he had even reviewed my MRI images and reports and he said he had, but I seriously doubt it. So they referred me to Encore Physical Therapy which is attached to Garden Park.I gave Encore all of my MRI images, reports, Bienville Orthopedics records, etc. After reviewing all of the information I provided, the head physical therapist (Missy) looked at me in disbelief and said she had no idea why he sent me to physical therapy because no amount of physical therapy is going to heal a TORN rotator cuff. Fortunately, Encore is attached to The Mississippi Orthopedic Institute which turned out to be in my network and Dr. Johanson performed my much needed surgery 5 weeks ago, and I am well on my way to full recovery.Based upon my single appointment with James Thriffiley, I wouldn't let him treat the pinky toe of my worst enemy. The only thing I can think of that could explain his actions was that he wanted to try and squeeze as much money out of me as possible over the course of several appointments rather than just perform my much needed surgery, or his ego is so inflated that he really does believe that he is better than any other doctor AND EVEN CLEAR CUT, PLAIN AS DAY, BLACK AND WHITE, MEDICAL IMAGING. He acted arrogant, rude, and seemed to lack any compassion during my interaction with him.I hope you enjoyed this story almost as much I am going to enjoy never stepping foot in his office again. I would give 0 stars if possible.
First time patient following surgery out of town. Very professional, polite and efficient to all staff members and Dr Thriffiley.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
