Always a great experience! My family has been seeing Dr. Thriffiley since 2011. He has treated us for knee, foot, shoulder, collarbone injuries just to name a few...and yes, there's more :) Dr. Thriffiley and the staff has always been truly amazing. Wait times are usually quite short and the only reason we've ever had to wait awhile is if the Dr. was providing instructions for surgery or taking extra time w/ a child. Dr. Thriffiley is always very thorough on his examinations and I've always appreciated that surgery is typically the last option (many surgeons jump right to it). Dr. Thriffiley always tries less invasive ways to help you first and only recommends surgery if it's absolutely needed or if all other options have failed. I don't ACTIVELY try to see him but if our medical needs require anything orthopedic we will definitely see Dr. Thriffiley and his amazing staff.
Worst experience ever. Thriffiley is very unprofessional along with his staff. Very rude and unknowledgeable, especially for patients with a language barrier. He refuses to listen and actually care about his patients. Would not recommend it to anyone especially if there is a language barrier issue going on or medical treatment needed.
My wife went to Dr. Thriffiley after a fall and they treated her like gold! So when I blow out my shoulder I didn't hesitate to call them. I am very glad I did! This crew has treated me a bit like family... immediately knowing who I am... engaging in friendly banter. I know it sounds a little over the top so I'll just say this... I hate going to the doctor generally, but I look forward to my appointments at Dr. Thriffiley. Now as far as my shoulder, with the doc's surgical prowess, North Bay Therapy's (the best) rehab visits and my perseverance I expect a full recovery.
I had the worst experience with the doctor. I would never go back or recommend. He made it seem like I was crazy for my knee pain since the x-ray didn't show anything. Finally after months and months of pain he performed knee surgery, said I'd be fine to drive and work the next day. I didn't take time off work since he said I'd be perfectly fine. I couldn't walk, drive, or do anything with my knee for DAYS. Luckily my job was understanding and my friend drove me to and from for a while. A few weeks after surgery, I was doing a lot better. My knee has never fully healed (I can't drive for more than two hours without pain, I can't run without severe pain, Physical activity for long periods of time hurts, but it's better than it was, I'm not using a wheel chair or crutches like before surgery. I was only 26 at the time this happened. Sad.
Overall “ok” experience with some major detractors throughout. I was referred offbase for a torn meniscus. Appointments went well, and after physical therapy, we decided to do surgery. Dr T recommended I did not need physical therapy after arthroscopic knee surgery…which was a mistake I’m still paying for 8 months later. Nobody I’ve spoken to since understands that recommendation. Dealing with the main receptionist was always rough. She was impatient and always seemed like you were inconveniencing her when you asked for help. If you don’t like people, don’t work as a receptionist. Even to this day, as I’ve moved on to a new assignment and need my records, I dread calling because I’ll have to speak with her. Aside from bad advice post-surgery and a grumpy receptionist, this place isn’t bad.
Attentive staff, nurses, doctor, and everyone in between. Doctor is very thorough, excellent bedside manner, easy to talk to.
My experience has been excellent and I recommend Dr. Thriffiley to anyone who has need of an orthopedic surgeon. I had serious rotator cuff surgery and followed his protocol exactly. No serious pain! And is office is extremely well run. He sees his patients on time, never rushed me through our visits, and answered all my questions. He never forced me into a decision to have surgery but listened to my concerns. Highly recommend him.
Without going into too much detail, I was referred to Dr. Thriffiley due to knee pain. He examined my knee and had one of his assistants/techs take x-rays. He then prescribed me some medication and told me to come back in a month. Nothing else. Fast forward to my next appointment date, I show up only to learn that the doctor isn't even in the office, but is on a cruise. The lady working the reception desk even confirmed that I did in fact have an appointment scheduled at that time. What makes it worse is that I had to take time off from work to make it to the appointment. I give them two stars only because the lady who took my x-rays was nice. I hope he had a good cruise, but I will be finding a new doctor. Edit: I received a phone call from Thriffiley's office after making this review post. They apologized and asked that I give him another chance. While I do sincerely appreciate the apology and the phone call I have already scheduled an appointment with another local physician.
Dr. Thriffiley is a wonderful doctor. He always takes time to listen. He is compassionate and caring. He takes care of my family and has been our doctor for a few years.
This place of business has very ugly workers working the front office. I would not recommend any services from someone who throws they hands up at you and close windows in a potential customer’s face. Terrible customer service! Only rated one star to post my comment.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
