List of MIguel Melgar's Reviews
Very clean facilities. Very courteous, kind and professional staff. Dr. Melgar and NP Dunn make a wonderful team. They saved my dad's life and for that, me and my family are very grateful.
Most rudest doctor I have ever been to. Tried talking with him and he will basically say "shut up, I'm talking to you". No bed side manner at all. Didn't want to help my wife in her time of need. Would not recommend this doctor to anyone. A quack.
Dr. Miguel Melger is a great caring doctor he did my back surgery at Tulane hospital in New Orleans in 2011. After my surgery the nurses came in the room and help me get out of bed an I was able to walk. then he had set up physical therapy to come to house. After that I went to physical therapy at Touro Hospital I return to work three months after my surgery . He is the best. Thanks Dr Miguel for changing my life. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😍
This is more about my daddy than me. My dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer at the end of 2019, and Dr. Melgar was very thorough in the surgeries that my dad needed. A very caring person, indeed. When it felt like my dad wasn't going to make it much longer, he knew what was going on and was able to help. My dad passed away in 2020, but I am grateful for Dr. Melgar for the months that my daddy got to live.
My experience with DR. Melgar was probably one of the fastest visits ever. He came in, introduced himself, then said he doesn't see anything wrong with me and that he's not doing surgery. I tried to ask some questions but he would interrupt me. He acted like me being there was an inconvenience to him. I am active duty military and I have done pain management because it is required before they send you anywhere. My PCM and therapist both recommended I see a spine surgeon. The images that were read said I had a t7/t8 disc protrusion. Melgar said he didn't see anything and wouldn't answer any other questions. I felt like I was rushed, or not wanted, I am in pain everyday. Been happening for 5 months now. He just made excuse not to see and that was that. I assume this doctor doesn't help ppl unless he sees that he will get a decent payout for it, as I have tri-care that wouldn't be the case. I do not recommend him. Doctors should take the time to listen to u. How ur pain is affecting u. I had this problem with my shoulder for 3 years. They said nothing was wrong. I found a Doc who said f it. Let's do surgery. He found that I really was messed up. So don't pick this one. And keep pushing till someone listens
What a worthless doctor, it has been 3 months and I still have to wait 3 more before I even see him! I have done all the test once even twice on some of the X-rays, CT, PT, and pain management and still no doctor! I am in pain every day and do not sleep some nights and he feels it is ok to wait this long. And the CT scan. No results for 6 months, really. Why read them over the weekend? Go to anyone but this doctor! And I put my name on this because they know it is true oh and while at the image diagnosis they told me to have a seat they did not have time for me. Really? I had to call the patient advocate to go to a different one and while waiting the lady call to say she was sorry she was just busy and had a bad day
This dude is one of the most caring doctors I e ever met. He did my back surgery and everything went great.
From the second he walked into the room he was very rude and short tempered, I had not spoken a word to him. When I did speak he interupted constantly as if he had no time for me. I wanted to walk out immediately, and I did within minutes due to leaving within a few minutes. He is horribly and I would never recommend him. He deserves a zero, not a 1star.
I met with his nursepractitioner and then I was called back and met with him on December 3rd ... at that point and time we discussed my issues and set a surgery date for December 23rd.. that would be to day the would call me with all the details. Last week I called several times as I had not heard back from the office I wanted to confirm the time that I would need to be at the hospital As well as any specific instructions....each time they said we have sent your message back with his Nurse they will contact me . I never got a phone call. NOW here it is the morning of my supposed surgery date,( no I did not go to the hospital because I do not believe my surgery has been scheduled ) I will be requesting my records as well as an explanation as to what happened and why I received no notifications, if the surgery was not going to be scheduled I should have at least a notified to give me time to make other arrangements this is a surgery that I need and I'm not sure what happened and why I didn't at least get a courtesy phone call telling me there was an issue or problem.
Did my first brain surgery. Saved my life. This is Dr Melgar's biggest miracle. God bless you and thank you for being my doctor. May God always bless you and your family. Thank you for being there for me again

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
