List of Smile Time Family Dentistry's Reviews
I want to start this off with saying that in no way am I trying to damage anyone’s reputation (a reputation of a business) or tell anyone whether they should or should not go here. I’m giving two stars because the lady who checked me in & the dental assistant who brought me back were extremely professional, helpful, & caring. I chose this place on a whim after relocating from my hometown a few years back. I didn’t read the reviews or anything. Just got tired of driving hours away every 6 months to get my teeth cleaned at the place I’ve been to since I was a kid. Every appointment here has just seemed to be a roller coaster ride. The first time I went I was basically told that everything from top to bottom was wrong (little to no positivity) even though I don’t have a single issue with pain/sensitivity in any of my teeth or gums. I was told I might need to speak with someone about reconstructive gum surgery — well, at first I didn’t because I wasn’t having any problems — but when it was brought up the next time when I went for a teeth cleaning (& was also told I had a cavity— this will be important later) & I basically stated that I’d wait until I thought I needed to see someone about it since it never bothered me before — I was just told “okay” so nonchalantly it made alarm bells go off — so I did end up seeing someone & they didn’t understand why I thought I needed reconstructive gum surgery & that the movement of my teeth from when I had braces was considered to be “normal.” Then, comes the time for the cavity to be filled & even though I had just made this appointment within just a few weeks/month of the previous one — somehow I randomly have all of these other issues with my teeth that aren’t bothering me in the slightest. Not to mention, during this visit, the dental assistant (different one from today) sprayed me in the face with water & turned around & laughed about it to another girl passing by who walked in to grab something. Some type of “treatment plan” was set up to take care of whatever these other issues were that would have costed thousands out of pocket — thankfully had insurance - but not gonna lie I was sketched out at this point because I regularly keep up with my cleans from the previous place I’d go to & I really just think all of this would’ve been mentioned before especially since it was made out to sound like things that had developed over time. So, didn’t do it. Well, part of the filling ended up popping off the tooth that was filled & although not painful, just a little sensitive if something cold hits it — scheduled an appointment for today just to be sure. Not only did I have to wait almost an hour, but it seemed like it was an hour or maybe over before I was actually “seen” & was then told that the filling isn’t even the biggest problem with the tooth because it could be “infected” so they’ll get me a treatment plan. Not really any other info other than that. Not to mention, nothing was wrong with this tooth the last time I was seen other than having to have a cavity filled. But now, everything’s wrong. Something is just suspicious. & when I explained that the tooth is only sensitive at times, i was then sprayed in that spot with cold water/air out of nowhere & when i jumped back i just got a laugh with, “you said it didn’t hurt! We won’t be mean to ya!” — So THEN, as I was sitting in the chair waiting for my “treatment plan” — was when I finally started reading the reviews…. & that was when I officially NOPED out. As soon as the lady who checked me in came back with my treatment plan, I just told her that I wouldn’t be paying another dime because I felt uncomfortable. I wanted her to know it had nothing to do with her, just experiences that have built up over time. I also told her I wouldn’t leave a review — but i couldn’t help it. This place just seems like something out of a horror film to me. By the way, not that age matters — but im 25. I just really wonder if this place is doing something illegal with charging people’s insurance/coming up with problems that aren’t there?
At first, I found them to be friendly and professional. However, over time, the communication became irregular at best. They would cancel appointments, and claim that they called me, but I would not receive a voicemail. In addition, some of their very costly dental work has come apart. Finally, one dental hygienist in particular, is not cognizant of how difficult it is to go to the dentist, and receive a painful stab without warning.
The dental team at Smile Time is incredible! From cleanings to fillings to cosmetic work and emergent situations, they are my go-to. They also accept many forms of insurance! The night guards they customize and produce in house are a game changer; I've never slept better knowing I don't grind my teeth in my sleep anymore. Thanks for taking great care of me and helping me regain my smile!
slowest dentist office in hattiesburg. you’d probably be better off pulling your own teeth
Amazing dentist and staff!! I’ve had to have extractions, crowns, and root canals all of which were done with great care… some were long procedures but it was necessary for the work that was performed and their attention to detail and their patience with everything was great!
Scary
I went there for myself, after a great experience with them for my disabled son. After an oral tumor removal last year, I have a pretty extraordinary case that I felt assured that they could handle for me. After my first visit, I felt all confident that with them, I’d found my resolve. They spoke considerably, and with great concern towards my needs, and for my wholeness. Well, that’s literally ALL I RECEIVED. Just great talk to console, but I found that it was all lies and put-offs. Nothing they told me actually happened, not even a returned phone call. I talked to them and did pop-up visits to the point they knew me upon sight. They just told me what they thought I wanted to hear, and left me waiting. Never would I treat ANYONE with such a lack of empathy and compassion as I was given. It’s literally taken from me the last bit of confidence I thought I had left in myself. This process has been a long, hard, and very agonizing ordeal to endure. Im at the end now, where, all I need is the teeth. There will definitely be NO REFERRALS to them from me. I’d almost say ANYWHERE else BUT there, will be better! I’d rather just die with whatever issues I have before entrusting their services again.
My name is Christina Tenner, and I given the worst service. I was given some dentures that didn't fit and refused to fix it. They took my hard earned money, and gave the worst customer service. Please save your money and go to a place where there is good customer service. Hey Tim,Im still waiting on that phone call?NO STARS!!!!!!
The worst experience. Tim gave me some dentures that sticked out of my mouth.I asked him fix it, and he stated he can't do nothing. He is very unprofessional. He took my money, but he wants me to pay additional for his mistake. Please don't waste your hard earned money with this company.
Best dentist around!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
