Dr Barrett did my surgery on my knee September 16th. Had a awesome recovery no problems at all. The nurse team is very compassionate and caring. They Listen to your concerns very well. I initially presented to Dr. Barrett at the in early 2022 to perform a specialized procedure called the MACI for a cartilage defect in my left knee. Dr. Barrett was experienced in the procedure and came highly recommended from the company that provides the procedure materials and grows the cartilage sheets. He performed with surgery with no complication and I was very pleased overall with my experience. As I worked through a lengthy recovery he was courteous and always attentive to my questions and concerns as a patient. A medical professional myself, he spoke at my level and held my opinions in high regard. Unfortunately my procedure failed at the 8 week mark so after 12 weeks post MACI I underwent a second, larger, procedure to correct an angular limb deformity in my femur at the end of September. This surgery was significantly more involved and required an overnight stay in hospital. Dr. Barrett approached my second procedure with extra caution to insure that this would be the last procedure I would need. While being thorough in surgery and meticulous in placement of my plate and screws my incision was kept as minimal as possible and was much smaller than I anticipated. Even on a second cut over the same incision, closure was beautiful and I am hoping I will have minimal scarring based on his superb technique. At my 4 week post op, we are both completely satisfied with my healing and overall experience. I cannot speak more highly of Dr. Barrett's professionalism and surgical expertise. His candor is appreciated, and his care for his patients and their well-being is always evident. When my first surgery appeared to be failing he respected my input as a patient and heard my concerns regarding pain and discomfort that I felt was abnormal. He is willing to investigate any changes and I always feel heard when discussing my concerns. His medical team is phenomenal and very personable. Every one of them has gone out of their way to make sure that my questions and concerns are addressed. Any communication is promptly returned and they have such stellar personalities and are very easy to get along with. I am grateful to have received care from Dr. Barrett and team and would recommend him to any patient with hip and knee concerns.
