List of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation's Reviews
Great hospital and staff that care about their patients. Best hospital I have I ever been to. They were so nice and did everything they could to make sure I was okay and comfortable after surgery.
While traveling for a funeral and work I suddenly became ill. A teammate took me to MS Baptist Hospital and Im convinced it was a blessing in disguise to be 3 hours away from home for pancreatitis to hit me as the Baptist Hospital was incredible I was very sick and the ER was quick to respond. I was treated by PA I think her name is Marilyn and nurses Ashley and Extern Juli think thats her name. They were beyond amazing knowing I was alone and no family with me. After ultrasound CT scan and blood test I was diagnosed with pancreatitis and had to be scheduled for an emergency gallbladder removal. April was so sweet and as she took me upstairs to my room her conversation was immensely comforting as we exchanged the work of Jesus is upon my body. Dr. Shepard Dr. Maples and Dr. Vance we very thoughtful and informative of how they would take care of me. I was treated on the 5th floor by two RN angels Julie amp Melanie. Crystal took great care of me in the surgery holding room and after the surgery David watched over me and insured I was returned to my room to meet my husband. After a 4day stay to insure I was prepared to travel 3 hours to West TN I was released. Such wonderful southern hospitality by each and all. Thank you Mississippi Baptist for taking such great care of me
Their billing department is a dumpster fire. It took over five months to correct an issue that was as simple as PUSHING A BUTTON because of their incompetence. We spoke to Brenda Charlene Keosha and Charles and while Charlene and Keosha were nice Brenda and Charles were not. Brenda is either too old to operate a portal correctly or genuinely just doesnt give a shit about her job. If thats the case shes not fit for the job. She should leave. Charles the supposed supervisor we spoke to had no empathy whatsoever and acted like he had more important things to attend to rather than hearing about than the five months of hell his employees put us through. This is AFTER one of his employees told us we couldnt speak to a supervisor because he wasnt there. I told her I wasnt getting off the line until I talked to someone and magically he was there He argued with us on that but I shut him down by calling him out on his lie and that in fact his employee had said he wasnt there no matter what he said I was still lied to. Dont worry I got no apology for anything. Not about the incompetency the lies nothing. But dont worry guys When I slipped a cuss word he suddenly started to listen enough to tell me to stop talking. I told him that At my big age I can say whatever I want when youre scamming me out of money. Our insurance was involved directly three times and told them how to handle resubmitting our insurance correctly and we were told the problem was solved. NOPE. We found out they had been holding fixing our bill when we decided enough was enough and had a conference call with our insurance company and Baptist. Turns out if you tell them you think theyre committing insurance fraud and your insurance company calls to back you up and fix the problem in real time a job they shouldnt have to do your problem is magically fixed.Once again go f yourself Charles and Brenda.
Most staff are nice but we are refused to be provided with an sign language interpreter. This hospital was excellent always provided interpreter services until COVID. Dont you think deaf people should just be overlooked?? What if its a life threatening situation? No They are people too.
This place has the most efficient admissions system I have ever seen. When you feel bad or are going to the hospital you dont need extra aggravation Both times it took 5 minutes to be on the way to a room or radiology. The care was good and people nice. The facility is up to date for the most part. The equipment t is up to date for the most orr
Two hour wait is unacceptable
Saved my life back in 2005
The facility is pretty nicely maintained although they do have worn but functioning equipment. Easy to turn off State Street and with let someone off at the door or go to the Peking lot and park. The admission procedure was the easiest of any hospital I ever took my parents or husband to. All the staff with whom we came into to contact were very friendly and helpful. They have different policies than I am used to. If you are immunosuppressed watch them like a hawk to make sure they dont use syringes that have been left open on the counter or hook up an IV that has had hanging without the end capped. Make sure they swab the port before accessing it. The doctors are the ultimate deciding factor in the worth of a hospital. The admitting doctor radiologist GI doctor and oncologist were competent. I liked the oncologist he said he also works at St Dominic. I would probably come here again. On a lesser note the patient food looked good and my husband said was good. The cafeteria was healthy food. They have a grill with burgers.
I have been in Hospital with my Mother many times the best treatment and care. Team Baptist 1
I was going to rant and rave about how horrible this place is. If I could give it something lower than one star I would. Instead I thought I would just try and give people the facts so they could make an informed decision....preferably not to use this facility. I just had the worst experience of my life in a medical facility this past week. It was a horror show. First off the hospital is filthy. You only see housekeeping cleaning in the lobby and the common areas. These people are more concerned with the appearance of cleanliness than actual cleanliness. The ER is a pig sty. The ER is unorganized. The ER staff as a whole are unprofessional and incompetent. The ER doctor on visit one was not very intelligent. The ER doctor on visit two was condescending arrogant and again not very smart. She spent 9 hours the first time and 7 hours the second time. Yes she had to come back because an issue wasnt properly addressed in her FIRST stay there. The whole time my mother was in this hospital we saw housekeeping only empty her trash. The bathroom in the room she was assigned hadnt been cleaned. The potty chair in the room had the banner saying it had been cleaned. There was dried urine in the bucket. My sister actually changed her bed linens which is the nurse aides job once because no one came and my mother was on wet sheets. Now there were a few good nurses. There were a few good doctors. However one bad nurse or doctor can erase anything done by a good one. I saw an appalling lack of competence in every aspect of their staff. It was so bad I called her insurance company to see if there were some way to get her out of that place. Unfortunately the way insurance works is unless the institution you are in cannot perform the task needed you are stuck. Her primary care Dr. was very unhappy with her treatment. She was moved to ICU. Again it was filthy. The floors hadnt been cleaned in a very long time. There was wall covering coming off the walls. There was broken equipment and electrical sockets not functioning properly yet they were concerned with washing hands going in and out. She ended up getting a nosocomial infection. What should have taken only a week to 10 days from which to recover will now take months. I talked to hospital administration about her treatment. They were not concerned in the least bit. I talked to them on Monday morning. They released my mother at 4 am Tuesday morning. So much for their commitment to patient care. One of their own staff one of the good ones told me You have to remember this is a business first not a hospital. Nothing comes first except ways to make money which includes return visits and saving money anyway they can. I just wondered if she knew something I didnt. Like maybe they intentionally didnt address the issue in the first stay knowing it would lead to a second visit. After what I have been through. Nothing would surprise me as to what these people are capable of.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
