Amazing doctor and staff! I’ve had several Nerve Oblations for my back and by far, Dr Sweeney was the best! Did not feel any nerve pain during procedure and he and his team were very compassionate and patient! Highly recommend this amazing doctor! You cannot find doctors that give personal care and concern much these days, so glad we found Dr Sweeney!

Completely frustrated with my appointment with Dr. Sweeney yesterday. I’m 6 weeks out from a kidney auto transplant (and just a side note: coming from the U of U nurses and CNAs that took care of me after surgery, it seems to be the most painful of all the transplants surgeries) and Dr. Sweeney refuses to help me. Basically lectured me about how he was sick and tired of surgeons cutting up patients and then sending them to him to deal with. He told me to call my surgeon in SLC and have him continue to care for me post-surgery. I explained the team in Utah advised me to continue with pain management locally because my recovery is so long and he was putting me in the same position of trying to receive pain relief after major surgery and being stuck in the middle with no help. He gave me a week’s worth of hydrocodone and refused to help me with anything else. I called the transplant team after my appointment and their policy states that because they can only fill out so many prescriptions, they refer patients to pain management for further care and observation. This was the first time she’s dealt with a patient calling because their local pain management specialist refused care. So now I’m having to be referred to pain management in Utah.

Dr Sweeney is so wonderful! He is such a nice man with compassion and expertise in pain management. He changed my life. I was in such chronic pain several years ago that I shed a lot of tears most days and was quite miserable. He has helped me with the chronic pain ever since I was fortunate to have him as a doctor. I trust him so very much and can not say enough good! He is a great person and a phenomenal doctor!

I have waited a few months to post this so I had time to think about it. I went to Dr. Sweeney to get help with chronic back and rib pain. It started out ok except he has a very unpleasant scheduler at times. After several injections and several appointments we decided on nerve ablation, I have had this procedure before in Colorado and it wasn't an unpleasant procedure until Dr. Sweeney did it. I told him during procedure I could feel the burning and he said that's good. The other pain specialists I went to made sure the nerves were numbed so I wouldn't feel it. They did a test procedure to make sure. I just find it sad that I felt the burning all the way around my rib cage. Inflicting pain to remove pain is not what I expected.

Dr. Sweeney has offered me help every step of the way and my steps are quite painful due to my lousy back. He is kind, considerate and well informed.

Dr. Craig Sweeney is one of the most thorough doctors, especially regarding pain and medication. At first, I have to admit, I was a little frustrated with him when he removed all the medications I had been on through other doctors. However, after realizing it was for the best, we adjusted and managed to get the pain back to tolerable levels. He worked very hard to find the true center of my pain, and we have. Nothing is 100% when dealing with true pain. Dr. Sweeney has helped me get to the other specialists needed to hopefully further repair some problems.

Dr. Sweeney will only work well for you if intervention based pain management will work for you. He will not manage any narcotic medication. If you fail gaba/lyrica, epidurals etc you will be thought of as a drug seeker. I was not impressed. One visit to my surgeon and I'm set for fusion.

Posting for my mother-Craig Sweeny was the most egotistical, unprofessional and degrading liscensed idiot i have ever had the displeasure of having an appointment with. According to Sweeny, if you are a P.A. "PAs have no business writing perscriptions or diagnosing people because they do not know what medications do and they don't know how to diagnose properly". I was threatened with a federal lawsuit because I stated that my family would be upset over losing the medications that keep me out of a wheelchair. Sweeny overreacted and said it was a federal offense to mention my family and anger because "that's how Drs get attacked and get their houses burned down". No alternatives to the medications were suggested even when I asked for them. He didn't take my medical history of the past 20 years of severe back injuries into account and made me feel like I had no business being in his office.

GREAT JOB to Dr Sweeney and his staff very helpful. Keep up the good work and Thank You for what you have done for me so far.
