David Boes's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Boes did cataract surgery on both of my eyes recently. The surgery was very successful. The staff was professional and helpful. The procedure was explained to me in a manner that reduced my anxiety and prepared me for the surgery. The aftercare was thorough and I felt comfortable knowing how to care for my eyes following the surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Boes for eye surgery.

ABSOLUTELY....!! Dr Boes will go above and beyond what you would expect. He spent many hours (years) treating my brothers (Dr Jim Curtis of Malta, MT) glaucoma. Any time day or night Dr Boes was there for him since it was a 200+ mile trip from Malta to GF...he always found time to see my brother....and for that I can’t thank him enough. (Except maybe when I had to take my bro to see Dr Boes at 4:30AM.....yes...4:30AM ??)

I don't want to happen to me with Dr. Abraham who is an optometrist at this clinic to happen to anyone else who comes for an appointment with Dr. Abraham here so I am writing this as a warning to all.  Dr. Abraham was dismissive of me by telling me everything that I said was wrong and that he was right.  My neurologist diagnosed me with chronic migraines and Dr. Abraham informed me quite rudely that my neurologist miss diagnosed me.  He followed up with his statement by asking me why I am on my medicine for my chronic condition when I don't have it?  He also informed me quite rudely that one of the meds my neurologist has me on for my chronic migraines is only used for anxiety and high blood pressure so he has no idea why I am on them.  Then Dr. Abraham informed me again how chronic migraines and headaches are not a real thing and they don't exist.  With my chronic migraines I don't remember things that occur during the migraine so I ask my husband what happens so I went to ask my husband who was back in the exam room with me during the appointment and Dr. Abraham said, "why are you asking him he doesn't know what you go thru?"  I told him, "when I have a migraine I don't remember so I am asking him since he is my husband and we live together."  Dr. Abraham's response to me was, "well most people remember things about themselves they don't have to ask anyone else."  "I am asking you not him I don't need him talking at all."  Then Dr. Abraham informed me that a woman at my age of 42 does not have migraines.  Then during the exam I moved my head and face off the machine to blink my eyes as they were dilated and he told his assistant, "can you hold her head down so she doesn't move?"  She came at me with her hands up to my head not even speaking to me because she seems to be so afraid of him she doesn't speak at all and I looked at her and moved my head clear out of her reach.  My husband put his hand on my back to help me calm down because that upset me and Dr. Abraham asked my husband, "can you hold her down?"  My husband said, "no I am not holing her down she doesn't need to be held down she is fine."  Then he finished the exam.  He informed me that there is nothing wrong with my eyes and that he was confused as to why I was there in the first place and that I just needed over the counter readers from Wal-mart.  However, he wanted me to come back to run more test to see the back of my eye because he informed me quite rudely that since my M.R.I. that my neurologist had done last month was normal that I don't have migraines.  I told him I have blurry vision and he said that I don't.  This is when Dr. Abraham very rudely said, "your brain sees not your eyes."  He asked me to read the letters on the mirror across the room and when I told him  I just saw shapes not letters and he rudely informed me that my distance vision was fine.  How is that fine when I see letters as shapes off in the distance?  Why does he want to run tests if there is nothing wrong with my eyes?  Is it because I have medicaid and he wants more money from my insurance since I don't have a copay?  Why was my husband not allowed to help me remember things?  That was the whole reason my husband was back in the exam room with me.  A neurologist or any doctor for that matter doesn't put someone on medication for something if they don't have the condition.  Chronic migraines are a real thing or they wouldn't have chronic migraine commercials on TV for all kinds of different medicines to help people with the symptoms.   Yes my other medicine I am on can be used as a preventative medicine so I don't get as many migraines and google tells you that.  The medicine is used for anxiety and high blood pressure but it also used by many doctors as a preventative medicine for migraines.  When did optometrists become neurologist?  Again I am just letting people know so it doesn't happen to you.  Go ahead and go to him at your own risk and if you don't want any answers and have more tests done.  If you have medicaid for insurance I don't recommend going to Dr. Abraham or this clinic.  They also aren't very friendly as a staff as a whole they are a bit rude actually.

Dr. Boes completed my Cataract surgery and I found both he and his office and surgical staff fantastic to conduct and oversee this procedure. Incredibly professional and I have no reservations recommending the services to anyone.

I was so amazed at the difference in the clarity in my sight and how fast it was. I had absolutely no pain during or after the surgery. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes And no longer need to wear glasses, I couldn’t be happier. The staff was so nice and friendly.

Everyone during the procedure were very professional. I felt very confident and relaxed. Follow up calls were very nice, especially as we live far from the office and wouldn't have been easily able to go back to the office if there would have been problems.

I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Dr Boes. I’m thrilled with the results of cataract surgery. It was quick, painless and everyone involved was wonderful.

I most certainly will! Dr. Boes provides several phone numbers for himself and I called him the night before surgery with a question; he didn’t mind. Each employee I interacted with was kind and not rushed. I felt very well cared for. Prior to entering the surgery room for the first eye surgery I became very anxious. As Dr. Boes was prepping my eye I mentioned it to him and he adjusted his preparations in order to help me. During the surgery when the anxiety worsened I said something to him again and his calm voice helped me to calm down. For the 2nd surgery I asked the nurses if they would not lower my head when they had me lay down on the gurney in the waiting area. The surgery nurse lowered my head in the surgery room; anxiety was greatly reduced and the surgery went well. Dr. Boes’s staff communicated with me for appointment reminders, explained medications I needed to utilize and followed up by specifically asking what they could do better. I am so grateful-THANK YOU!

Dr Boes and his team are AMAZING. Everyone is kind and caring. Went to the Surgi Center in Helena where Dr Boes comes from great falls to do surgeries. I live in Wolf Creek and Helena is closer for me. My surgery was on Thursday morning. When I woke up Friday morning I had no problems. It's Sunday and all is well. Thank you Dr Boes, I'm so glad there is someone like you to take care of my eyes. I recommend Dr Boes for your eye care!!!
