We happily drive an hour from Missoula to o see this wonderful primary care physician. I am a nurse and very selective about health care for our family. Dr Child is knowledgeable, thorough and answers all of our questions. We always leave with a plan of care
Amazing doc who really cares about his patients.
Dr. Childs truly cares about his patients.
My husband and I were switching doctors due to our previous primary moving out of state. My husband was in the hospital due to chest pain and had already had a positive stress test. Dr. Child had never met my husband prior to his hospital stay (appointment with him was coming up). He basically told my husband the morning of his heart catheterization that he thought his chest pain was due to heartburn. My husband has never had heartburn... and again... had a recent positive stress test.. Later that morning, his cardiologist placed 3 stents and had to evacuate a clot that could have killed him if immediate action was not taken. He was then placed in CVU. And, there were additional blockages and was scheduled for another procedure in 2 weeks. Not heartburn! We need a doctor who takes our concerns seriously and doesn't just blow them off. Thank GOD we went to a cardiologist first.. or he could be dead right now.
I was very skeptical and anxious to see Dr Child as I've not had the best experiences with doctors. For the most part they are lacking in their listening abilities. I must say I was impressed with Dr.Child as he seemed to actually hear what I was saying. I've only seen him once but am looking forward to our next visit. Hopefully we continue to jive well together as patient and Dr.
Horrible experience. Refusing to consult with specialists. Refused to listen to the patient or family. Had his mind made up with very little facts. And then discharged the patient with a deadly combination of medication. Thank goodness the error was caught.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
