Dr. Holtzen was extremely creepy and unprofessional. He talked to me like a child, touched my leg unnecessarily, ignored my debilitating panic, yelled at staff at a volume audible through closed doors to "get me in there", referred to traumatic sedation as "fun medicine", administered said medication as I begged him not to, and allowed his staff to undress me while I was unconscious. As a sexual abuse survivor it will take me years of therapy to recover from his "care".

I grew up with a malocclusion (underbite) and knew I would need jaw surgery since I was a child. My orthodontist recommended Dr. Holtzen, and since my initial consultation, everything felt right! Dr. Holtzen and his staff made me feel safe and comfortable. I was also missing my lateral incisor teeth, and the team consulted with my orthodontist and decided to move in and reshape my K9's to avoid the hassle of implants. I had my surgery in July of 2014, and over six years later, my post-surgery smile looks and feels great. Having this surgery immediately changed my life! 5 star service and work and I highly recommend this place.For proof of how great Dr. Holtzen's work was, I posted some pictures from before my surgery and after. I did end up getting porcelain veneers, as my teeth have always had a hard time whitening.

I'm shocked a temple graduate, could be such a poor ,uncaring , butcher of a surgeon. I'm embraced to say I went there.thanks for the painful facial makeover. I look as though I was jumped on Columbia ave. Denise

My 2nd child to undergo removal of 4 impacted wisdom teeth with Dr Holtzen. This child was obviously so happy with the procedure, the staff and especially Dr Holtzen. Her brother had a simple, easy recovery 4 years ago and we are well on our way to a successful recovery again. We highly recommend Dr Holtzen for any maxillo-facial surgery you may need in either Missoula or Hamilton. Thank you!

To be honest, I was disappointed by my experience here. I came in for a routine wisdom teeth surgery, and came back multiple times for various complications i.e. extreme and prolonged swelling, double infections, trismus (lockjaw), and dry sockets. I understood that I was at risk for these complications as I am 24 (older than the average patient for this particular surgery) and had impacted wisdom teeth, however the way they went about handling everything was where I took issue. To begin, no verbal post-op instructions were issued to my partner who was helping me post-op. We did receive written instructions months prior, but Ive never heard of someone being hurriedly ushered out without any oral overview for their driver. The first time I came back with the infections, they didn't do any kind of irrigation which I was frustrated with, as I was struggling to do it myself with limited jaw opening. Instead I was hurried out the door again. I came back to ask about the fact that I could barely open my mouth, and I was told it wasn't actually lockjaw and it would go away with time. I didn't regain full range of motion for more than a month after. Exasperated, I finally went to another doctor when I suspected I had dry sockets (I was experiencing extreme pain and headaches when trying to rinse my sockets), it was confirmed I did. I was given a thorough irrigation, numbing paste, and was told I did in fact have trismus (lockjaw) and given advice on how to remedy the situation more quickly. I hate to leave negative reviews, but this experience was debilitating enough that I felt the need to share. Dr. Holtzen was very kind every time I met with him, but I did not agree with the way they went about my complications and would not return based on my experience.

Dr. Holtzen removed our daughter's wisdom teeth. One tooth was deeply impacted, but he did a great job and her recovery was quick and without incident. Dr. Holtzen has wonderful bedside manner, and we highly recommend him.

I recently took my son to Dr. Holtzen to have his wisdom teeth removed. The staff was very friendly and comforting. The wait was minimal and the nurse sent us home with clear instructions. My son had very little swelling and was able to take an over the counter pain reliever by the next day. I would highly recommend Dr. Holtzen and his Hamilton Staff. I plan to use his expertise in the future for my family's needs as they arise. This by far was the best medical experience I have had with my children.
