List of Charles Sullivan Md's Reviews
Dr. Sullivan explained clearly and in detail what would happen during the surgery and he and the staff prepared me well for what to expect when I got home, including steps to assist with the healing process. I was treated with respect and dignity, and am confident that the carpal tunnel surgery will bring me much relief from the pain and discomfort of the condition. I highly recommend Dr. Sullivan and the Missoula Bone & Joint Clinic!
Both drs Sullivan were kind and effective
Horrible patient care. I had an appointment with Dr. Sullivan and because I had an hour commute, for various reasons, it became clear I would be a little late. I phoned MB&J when I was close and told them I would be late, but I was almost there. After checking in I was at intake desk 2 15 minutes late. The intake person knew that I had called. She called Dr. Sullivan's aid, Jeneka, (sp?) who told her that they were already very backed up, behind schedule, and could not see me. I told the intake person, if so, then even if I had been on time, I would still be waiting. I said that this was the 2nd post op appointment and would likely be very brief. She said, I'm sorry, that's what Jeneka said. They blew me off to ease their workload. I was offered an appointment the next day at 8:30 but I was leaving on a trip then and wouldn’t have returned even if I could due to their callousness. I have always had to wait when I arrived there on time. At my previous appointment, I didn't see the Dr. until over a half hour past the appointment time, during which time I heard him socializing with another doctor right outside the room, about vacations and such, for at least ten minutes. I had first seen Dr. Sullivan a year earlier due to pain and numbness in my hand and wrist. He referred me to another doctor at MB&J who ordered an MRI of my neck. That Doctor, Dr. Witte, said that I had arthritis on an upper vertebra and would need surgery to have two vertebrae fused, involving metal insertions, a major surgery entering from the front of neck, with a lengthy recovery time. He told me to contact him when I was ready. This all took several months. A friend referred me to another doctor whom she was very impressed with, with a different group at another Missoula location. I told him my symptoms and he immediately told me my problem was not with my back but was clearly carpel tunnel syndrome. He also said an MRI is not like an x-ray in revealing what is happening on the spine and at any rate he could do a procedure entering from the back to widening any nerve canals that might be impinged, without drastic measures. Since he was not a hand surgeon, he called Dr. Sullivan while I was in his office and discussed why he thought my issue was carpel tunnel. Dr. Sullivan’s told him he had thought it might be carpel tunnel when he first saw me but wanted another opinion. His office made an appointment with me to schedule the carpel tunnel procedure. I had it done, which eliminated the pain altogether, but I still have some numbness in my hand which may or may not improve, according to Dr. S. He told me not to wait as long if it happens to my other hand. I said nothing but thought “It’s because of YOU I wasted a year!” I have no other symptoms now. If I would have had the major surgery, it would not have eliminated the pain, and would have laid me up for a long time. I will never return to MB&J. I would not have written this review otherwise but the callousness of Jeneka in blowing me off after my commute for no other reason than to lessen their workload brought this sorry experience to a head.
Dr. Sullivan recently did a hand procedure on my disabled friend. He did an excellent job of explaining how and why the surgery process would flow. He has a great caring quality with his patient. He takes time and is very interested in the patients concerns and takes an interest in his patients. He is a five star Dr. I would highly recommend Dr. Sullivan.
I tried to remove my left thumb at the wrist last year and Dr. Sullivan masterfully put it back together the next day. I complemented him on his skills as a surgeon and he said it was me who did the surgery, he gust put it back together for me. Far better result than I had expected due to the severely of the injury. At the release interview he left me by saying, "come back as needed". Hope to never do that again. Like to give 10 stars.
He misdiagnosis does me the Monday after I was in the ER and didn’t order a MRI to be sure and I suffer3d for over 2 years with Rotator Cuff pain! He only ordered PT I really wanted to see DR Price but I had to see the oncall DR for the follow up!
I met Charlie in 2007 at the University Of Utah. I went there with a partial amputation on my right hand. Since then, 13 surgeries later and he has done every one. Very professional and great bedside manner. He is the only ortho that I will use.
Dr. Sullivan was very enthusiastic about problem-solving a difficult situation in my wrist, which for an active person like myself was imperative to have full range of motion, less pain and better use of my hand. He did an creative and competent job in putting me back together and I now have great use of this damaged wrist, much strength and very manageable pain. I would recommend him to anyone and have had another surgeon comment on how appropriate and well done the surgery was.
Great bedside manner. Explained condition from which I was being seen for.
From the first time I saw him he has always been very caring and thoughtful and made me feel at ease. He is a very special and accomplished Doctor and we appreciate him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
