Jennifer Mayo's Online Review Report Card

My review of Dr. Mayo would be 5, but the Providence system she works in is a 3. She's AMAZING. The kindest most compassionate, smart OB. But Providence---the scheduling is a nightmare, they overbook, terrible wait times, bad information-- and its EXTREMELY unlikely that your OB actually delivers your baby unless you go into labor Mon-Thurs 9a-3pm. But my prenatal care from Dr. Mayo was excellent.

Dr. Mayo & Staff are AMAZING, I have & will continue to recommend her to all of my family & friends!! I have been a patient of her's for almost 10 years now; 8 years after having my son (w/ a different OB whom I might add does NOT even deserve to receive any amount of recognition since I had to be induced early so he could fly out for his planned Hawaiian Vacation...) when I was startled w/ the sudden news I was expecting again I knew I needed to find the best care out there for my needs - Dr. Mayo has gone above and beyond, always empathetic towards my worries/concerns, never once making me feel rushed through an appointment. She truly listened & HEARD me; then made it a point to educate and never let me leave the office in doubt. I am not exactly the "Perfect Patient" by any means but her calm demeanor & approach always made me feel at ease. I have continued my care w/ her 9 years later and now she will be performing my hysterectomy in 2 days, I am 100% confident & trusting in HER!!

Wasn’t interested in listening to my issues at all. Zero empathy. Felt like I was being judged and not treated. I felt like she was just wanting to get rid of me and not interested in helping me figure out why I was hurting. It’s been six months and I am still upset about the whole thing. HER STAFF WAS GREAT!!!! Since I’ve found a new Dr.- I’ve found answers and relief immediately.

I usually do Yelp for being upset, but I forgot my goggle password and couldn't recover it, so that being said....... DR MAYO is the bomb!!! Her bedside manner is absolutely amazing I am truly blessed for finding her! You are a Angel and I am blessed for having you as my Doctor. She’s compassionate, but professional and thorough with explainations that I could comprehend. I never felt stressed out when she explained my situation with our son. My husband and I also constantly talk about how obviously confident Dr. Mayo was with moving us to do an emergency c-section and getting into what I’ll call “go-mode” so quickly without a change in her tone, energy, or demeanor. She stayed so calm and organized. It kept me very relieved and trusting in what was happening. I was informed of every step before it happened and the whole procedure went so smoothly. I was definitely scared going into the operating room but her and the whole staff were amazing. I have absolutely nothing negative to say or something I would change. I’m just eternally grateful.

By far one of the best Doctor's in Montana

Every connection with Dr. Mayo was a 5*. She's so personable, down to earth with great communication skills. I am a nurse and am very picky about my care providers. She answered every question I had each time I saw her and I had many! She did a robotic hysterectomy on me and this was the easiest surgery I have had and this was my 11th. Everyone in her office is easy to talk to. They have a portal so I was able to get my lab work and pathology report back quickly and I was able to ask questions and get answers quickly and easily. I would recommend her to anyone with OB/Gyn needs in a heartbeat!

I am SO glad Dr. Mayo was suggested to me. She is so kind, compassionate and has good bedside manners. She is a very skilled and confident OB/Gyn. My recent surgery with her was the best and easiest surgery I've had and it was my 11th! She has a portal so you can send her questions and get the results of labs, tests and even your pathology report. Her staff is very nice and are easy to work with. She always took time to answer any and all my questions and she explains things very well. I would recommend Dr. Mayo to anyone!

I went to Dr. Mayo for vaginal pain, itching and external bleeding. At 71 I had a fair idea that it must have been menopausal. I had not been sexually active for 20 years. She ran every test that existed for an STD, and did a biopsy. Her nurse called with the negative test results and told me Dr. Mayo felt the only solution was to excise my labia majora. What? Excuse me! I indignantly informed the nurse I considered genital mutilation preposterous. Fast forward almost two years, and having tried every ointment, cream and salve known to man, out of desperation I called her office again and was informed she was on maternity leave and another gynecologist was filling in for her. The gynecologist I saw in her place, after having examined me, said yes indeed it was thinning vaginal tissue due to menopause. She prescribed an ointment which immediately cleared up the condition and that was that. Two weeks later I had a follow up appt and thank goodness I did not have to see Dr. Mayo again. I am appalled that a certified doctor can not diagnose what must be a fairly common condition in older women. I surely can not be the only woman in Missoula she has seen who has suffered with the condition. I also informed my GP that I hoped to heaven she never recommended Dr. Mayo to another one of her patients. She was very apologetic and assured me she will not.

Unfortunately Dr. Mayo has minimal empathy for her patients. She is great in the clinic setting when she feels there is something she can help with, but when it becomes a bigger problem without many answers, Jennifer is not willing to hunt for answers with you. She is however quick to refer you to other providers and get it off her plate. I have never had a worse experience than I did with Dr. Mayo. Her staff on the other hand are very professional and helpful!
