Asked me irrelevant personal questions such as when the last time I worked was... Also argued with me about the fact that I explained to him that I'm not coherent when in seizures and coming out of them yet said to me; "I find it strange that you can't remember times or dates..." I told him I didn't bother to care to and that the records will show these answers. He still pressed it and I feel he caused me stress and I had an episode directly after the visit. Then I come to find out he's a child specialist... I'm 46... Worry about your own Career Doc....
Is he treating my seizing daughter? I wouldn't know. After weeks in the hospital we never met him. He was to call me to discuss her treatment but couldn't be bothered.
As parents of a child with epilepsy, we have had nothing but wonderful visits with Dr. Wheeler. His appointments are easy to get and his staff in the remote location is wonderful (I cannot comment on the Kalispell location). He explains things well, is concerned, and always gets back to us in a day or less. We are very grateful and very pleased with him. Our experience has been second to none. My son was a former patient of a supposed amazing doc and it was the WORST--Never received calls back, his staff was horrible, they were extremely condescending. The switch to Dr. Wheeler was exceptional and four years later we are still very happy with him.
My daughter has been seeing Dr. Wheeler since May 2018 for her complex seizure disorder. We previously had come from a big city hospital setting which felt impersonal and unresponsive to our daughter’s situation. Dr. Wheeler has been very attentive and skillful in addressing our daughter’s needs. He has a caring and positive approach and spends the time needed to answers our questions and helps us and our daughter feel supported and hopeful.
wow from setting up an appointment the staff is rude and you cant ask questions. After all, i know nothing and they know everything. I should have realized that! Just come in and let us tell you what is wrong with your son. dont ask questions, just accept everything we tell you. This from a doctor with such a low rating on all sites?
why is this dr still at this facility? wow from setting up an appointment the staff is rude and you cant ask questions. After all, i know nothing and they know everything. I should have realized that! Just come in and let us tell you what is wrong with your son. dont ask questions, just accept everything we tell you. This from a doctor with such a low rating on all sites? his bio points out his love for acting, soccer, skiing, etc. his experience in research. None of these points make a good doctor. We w

Dr Wheeler listened to all our concerns and ordered test. His diagnoses and medication was spot-on .
Drove 4.5 hrs in the Winter only to get 10 minutes of his time after waiting months for an appt. He assumed without really reading the records that my son's juvenile arthritis diagnosis was psychosomatic and dismissed the videos we showed him pertaining to the addition concerns we had that might have been neurological per his reg ped doctor. He offered no other advice and really dismissed it all. My son was diagnosed via visual xrays and bloodwork through two Rheumo dr's, one local and one in Seattle. At the end of the day it was found to be a toxicity poisoning from the arthritis meds. Switched meds and it eventually got resolved. Thank goodness for the other peds doctor who took the time to determine the issue. We left there upset and without answers we really needed. A true waste of time. Sad that this happened.
We’ve had a wonderful experience with Dr Wheeler. Our son started having seizures at 6 months. We were referred to a physician at Primary Children’s. Supposedly this doc was the creme de la creme (epileptologist, awards, accolades, etc.) Long story short, he and his team were far from the best. We heard a peds neuro was starting in Kalispell and jumped-and WOW! Dr Wheeler is kind, highly attentive, and obviously a phenomenal clinician. Our son’s seizures are controlled. He hasn’t had one in 18 months and we feel like he’s getting the absolute best care. Dr Wheeler takes time to answer questions and encourages them. He’s never rushed and is very thorough. Dr Wheeler really is the best.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
