Matthew Struttmann Md's Online Review Report Card

My husband had his first routine colonoscopy. We received 3 different set of instructions which were very vague. We thought we were following the procedure correctly but upon arrival found out, we didn't. Dr. Struttmann had the opportunity to reschedule but he decided to do the procedure anyway. Upon completion of the colonoscopy, he came in to give a review of the procedure. He was rude and made my husband feel horrible about misunderstanding the directions. It was embarrassing when he talked about "the mess" my husband made. These references to "poor bowel" prep continued into the written report we received a week later. He had the chance to reschedule and educate us about proper prep but he chose to proceed anyway. We didn't do it on purpose and that's how he made us feel. On top of that, he failed to inform us that he took a biopsy of a growth. We had a long discussion with the nurse about the growth but it was never conveyed that they cut into it. When we got home, my husband began experiencing pain which only increased over night. We called at 8am and left a message but never received a call back. Fortunately, my husband's regular MD is fantastic and we texted him about the pain. That doctor called Dr. Struttmann immediately and discovered that he had taken a biopsy of the growth and yes...that would be causing pain. The regular MD called back and helped my husband navigate the pain-relief. This should have been addressed post surgery and it's terrible that no one called back within a reasonable time. Later that afternoon, a nurse from the clinic called to check-in and she was apologetic. We will not be going back to Dr. Struttmann EVER and probably will not utilize this clinic due to the very negative experience.

Dr Struttman was unprepared for the initial meeting with me as a new patient. He was obviously unaware of my medical history and voiced doubt about the history I reported to him. I experienced him to be rude and dismissive. I strongly recommend against him.

If you want to be rushed and talked down to he's your guy. If you want to ask questions and understand go somewhere else!!!!! He is rude and has no bedside manner what so ever!!! If you try to ask a question, he will stop you instantly! I felt talked down to. He acted like he had better things to do and I'm sure he did. But, i was there trying to figure things out!!! From the moment I walked in, the girls upfront were not welcoming. Maybe they were tired, who knows. The examination room had crumbs or what looked like crumbs all over the floor. GROSS!! Even the lab guy appeared annoyed. Not a good experience at all!!! The only positive thing I have to say is, his nurse was great! She explained what he didn't feel like explaining. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DR!!!!!!

All i can say is WOW !! Dr. Struttman is a very personable, experienced and friendly doctor !! I just had to write a review because starting from the receptionist Sherry onward this office is fantastic !! After an evening of drinking that medicine and coming into the hospital for my colonoscopy everything went well!! Dr.Struttman came in, introduced himself and chatted a bit!! What a nice guy-- ...

Dear Dr. Struttmann, I was extremely happy with my colonoscopy procedure. However, when I called your office (As Instructed-If I had questions) RN Jasmine told me I should schedule an apt with you since I had "So Many" questions. That made me look up your company's website- So my guess is that you spent 13 or so years becoming a 5 Star Doctor (My review of you), and the staff at your company is 2.0 Stars per Google . I ended up Googling what Diverticulitis was, and what I should eat. (I should have been directed to your website or provided some literature) My neighbor had this same procedure done one week prior to me, was shown pictures, etc... How her system looked, and best practices for the future. The *Best Doctors* will follow up with a phone call or have their RN's follow up after a surgery. That small gesture shows you really care -Just needed some direction to stay on the right path. Knowing this is like knowing how to correctly set a table correctly- Basic Etiquette

Dr. Struttmann was informative, answer my questions and provide quick recovery! The only problem I had with the service was that the lady that took my information and the my nurse both told me that they would call my wife who was parked in the parking lot when I went for operation. She never received the so set in the parking lot for over two hours. Thomas Sisson

Dr. Struttmann has treated me successfully for six years. He’s always prepared and knows his stuff. He can seem a bit abrupt at times and a patient might need to slow him down a bit. It helps to have questions lined up for him. He will answer them well.
