Great experience with office staff and Dr Futrell. Love that Dr Futrell was thorough but was conservative with his approach. Thank you
It was my first time going to this Foot Doc. The staff and doctor was very pleasant and professional. I would be glad to tell my close friends about this.
I won’t say anything about his medical abilities because I’ve never seen him. And that is the problem. His office has billed my insurance and is sending me bills for a visit that wasn’t even for me. I tried for months before the appointment to tell his office that I live several states away and had never even heard of him. His staff laughed and said it happens all the time and when the right person came in it would be cleared up. Then I start getting the bills. My insurance has already been billed (they share billing information with a national group and got my information through that). I’m getting bills. I call them and they say I was at the office. I call my insurance company who connects me to their billing department who says it’s a mistake and they will resolve it. But no, I continue to receive bills from them and my insurance has still been charged. May be the best doctor in the world but that doesn’t matter if they commit insurance fraud so willingly.
Dr. Futrell always takes the time to explain everything at each visit. Great surgeon with impeccable beside manner. I will not go anywhere else!
Dr.Futrell is a wonderful doctor. He takes the time to talk to his patients and explain any issues you are having. The rest of the staff are great also. They are very friendly and helpful.
My husband was referred to Dr. Futrell two years ago, and we cannot thank him enough for his care and compassion. Since the first visit, Dr. Futrell has gone above and beyond while being innovative and patient as my husband tends to heal slowly and have frequent foot issues. Since the first wound, my husband has had several more wounds/infections as well as surgery, but each time Dr. Futrell provided excellent care! He spends time with us as he explains and listens to our questions and concerns. I can say without hesitation that I trust and have complete confidence in Dr. Futrell, and we highly recommend him.
I use to use Futrell regularly, but didn't see him for a while due to an extended rehab stay. In the past he had been a good doctor and his staff was friendly, but when I got out of rehab it all changed. He had a different staff and his professional demeanor had changed. He use to be friendly, but now he was brusque and made me feel I was wasting his time. His new staff were even more unfriendly and unhelpful. After Futrell did surgery on my foot his staff cancelled my follow-up appointment and said they could not re-schedule for SIX MONTHS! I called and left a message for his nurse to see if she could help me see him sooner, but she never returned my calls. Because of the length of time in seeing him for the follow-up to my surgery my foot became badly infected and I had to go to another doctor to get it treated. When I called his office his staff was always rude and unfriendly and they regularly mixed up my appointments and insurance.
I had a horrifying experience with Dr. Futrell. As soon as he comes in you can tell he's your cliché surgeon type personality.. talks over the top of you constantly, doesn't actually listen to what you say, etc.. The extra fun part came when he, without any warning, grabbed a tool and wrenched my toenail around until he tore a third of it off to send to the lab. This was excruciating.. to the point I was screaming so loud that I'm sure everyone in the place heard. Clearly, "First, do no harm." and INFORMED CONSENT are not in this man's vocabulary or practice. The rest of the visit was a blur as I was in shock and went on autopilot after this occurred. Needless to say, after processing the trauma of this visit I am now under someone else's care and highly recommend you stay away. I do want to give a shout out to the PA that was working there when I visited. He was very kind and warm in the early part of my visit while taking x-rays and stood out as a quality care provider.

He did not prescribed an extra depth shoe to go with the orthotic insert. That was huge mistake, and he should have realized that I needed an extra depth shoe.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
