Dr. Kelly recommended toe joint replacement surgery after taking a quick look at my x-rays. I chose to get a second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon and he recommended a less invasive surgery, cheilectomy. It’s always smart to get a second opinion and important to understand each doctor’s area of specialty. I was most upset by the unprofessional way Dr. Kelly’s staff handled my request for copies of my x-rays. I was told 3 times that Dr. Kelly’s office was unable to provide an electronic copy. His staff (both the man at the front desk and the x-ray technician) told me my best option was to take photos of my x-rays with my cell phone but then only showed me grainy photos of the x-rays on a computer monitor instead of the actual x-rays. Even after I quoted HIPPA law, they said they could offer me only a paper copy of the x-rays or let me take my own photos. I left Dr. Kelly’s Apex office feeling frustrated. The next day, I asked (via patient portal) if they could possibly email my x-rays to the other doctor’s office, clearly stating that I want an electronic copy. Later, I got a call from their Cary office, stating that a disc – electronic copy of my x-rays - was waiting for me at the front desk. I learned that the Apex office doesn’t have the necessary equipment, but cannot fathom why Carl (I think that was the name of the man at the front desk) didn’t offer for me to get the disc from the Cary office in the first place. A patient should not have to push so hard for something as common as a quality copy of an electronic x-ray.

Don't go to Dr. Kelly for hammer toe surgery. I ended up with a deformed toe which is worse than the hammer toe. He should have put a pin in so the toe would grow back straight. I am still in pain and it's been 8 months since surgery.

I love this foot doctor he very helpful know how correct foot problem. I had bad callus when I start see him he great pain I ask him can it be fixed then he said do surgery now completely out pain now so happy that found some fix this problem. Thank You Dr Kelly

went to Dr. Kelly for a broken toe. Assistant spent more time and diagnosed the problem more than Dr. Kelly. In and out in 5 min. When assistant went to explain pain and putting on the boot Dr. Kelly stated i was a nurse and knew what to do. I am still in extreme pain and will call to be seen in another office.

Dr. Kelly in five seconds knew I had PAD and would not operate on my ingrown toenail until I had my leg checked by a vein specialist. I was impressed by this quick observation! He referred me to another doctor and I was okayed after the best ultrasound I have ever had! Now I can get my ingrown toenail fixed.

I see Dr.Kelly. He is always professional and courteous. He is caring and funny. It is refreshing to be put at eased when visiting a doctors office. Highly recommend him.
