Dr. Heather Higgins's Online Review Report Card

I spend A period of time every summer in Asheville North Carolina. Last year I had an area on my face that I felt could wait until I got back home to Florida and ended up having a major surgery on my face following the removal of basal cell carcinoma. This year when I arrived To Asheville I noticed a place that was also concerning on my nose. Determining that I would not prolong having it checked I set about finding a dermatologist. Unfortunately the two recommendations were not able to see me right away but one referred me to Asheville Dermatology. At the very least I wanted to be checked out to make sure nothing needed to be treated right away. I was able to get an appointment with Lola the PA within a few days. This is where the story picks up. I have seen multiple dermatologist, plastic surgeons and MoHS specialist for basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma as well as melanoma. Not one treated me with such knowledge and skill and consideration as Lola. Her knowledge alone and discretion for her treatment plan was rational and reasonable. She listened to my experiences and that was immeasurable. I feel 100% confident trusting her with my dermatological issues. I really appreciated the fact that she talked about options that would specifically be best for me.

My first visit and I was so pleased with how throughly Lola and her assistant examined me. I highly recommend this Dermatologist!!! They were awesome!!!

Dr. Higgins and her staff put me at ease by their kind, gracious manner. She was attentive to my questions and gave me clear explanations.

This was 2 star..I had made and appointment with Dr Higgins since she was who I saw at another practice. When I arrived I checked in and saw a different person. Since I have had a Melanoma skin cancer removed in the past I was not happy with the visit. The entire visit was preformed while standing up. I have never had this type of exam. I was very disappointed because it was not what I expected and I did not feel I got a good body scan. My history gives me reason to want to feel confident about my exam. I had my second visit and it was awesome. Just a miss communication. Staff and Dr. Higgins were great.

When I had an itchy skin problem that needed immediate attention I called my dermatologist of some 20 years running. His receptionist said I could have an appointment in three weeks, absolutely nothing sooner. I called Asheville Dermatology and the receptionist, after hearing my problem, offered me one that afternoon. As if that wasn't enough of a pleasant surprise, Dr. Heather Higgins was a breath of fresh air. She is caring and thorough and competent. And as a bonus, she has a wonderful sense of humor. She is now MY DERMATOLOGIST!

I've been to several dermatologists in Asheville and haven't liked any of them. Which brought me here to Asheville dermatology. I met with Lola, I believe she is practitioner. She made me feel so comfortable and took care of all of my issues. She explained everything very clearly and took time to listen to me. I'm so glad I found a dermatologist office in Asheville! I'm recommending to all my friends!
