I was diagnosed with Covid on 12/19/21. Then Covid double pneumonia on the 29th at the ER. They put me on antibiotics and steroids and told me to follow up with primary. 1/3/22 I tried to make the follow up for an X-ray and blood work to determine the status of the pneumonia. They offer me a telephone visit. Are you serious?? I am out of the contagious range for Covid, but do need to see how the pneumonia is doing. How can a few questions about Covid give me a true access meant about my condition. Just a wasted phone visit for me to pay for. This is the second time I’ve had issues with making an appointment.I understand there’s Covid procedures in place for the staff, but it’s clear I am no longer a danger to anyone. This is ridiculous. I now have to go to an urgent care for a follow up. Not sure why I even have a primary dr at this point.
About a week and a half ago, I was feeling pretty bad, with symptoms of an ear infection. I tried to get an appointment with my doctor here, and they were just now able to get me in today, a solid two weeks after I started feeling ill.So I show up for the appointment, wearing my mask and whatnot, they ask me the little COVID screening questions, and then some power hungry, wannabe important front desk lady tells me I have to leave because I had symptoms... of an ear infection.I tell them I'm pretty sure it was an ear infection because my ear was hurting and popping, that I never had a cough or any respiratory symptoms. I also told them the symptoms stopped four days ago, that I've been vaccinated and boosted, that I've tested negative for COVID twice in the past week, and they still told me I had to leave. I guess they expect me to shove a camera in my ear to let some app doctor examine it over FaceTime. The last thing they said to me (before loudly declaring to everyone in the lobby that I was contagious and needed to leave) was that they only see patients for well visits. I guess that means they aren't willing to see anyone who's ever had any symptoms of any illness ever in their life. So If you're in perfect health and are looking for a new family doctor to monitor your already perfect health, check them out! For anyone else who has ever had a cold, avoid the absolute idiots at this place.
I have.been going to South Point Clinic for over 30 years. The entire staff is wonderful, especially Dr. David Rinehart. He is a wonderful doctor and a kind and caring man.
I'd give zero stars if I could. The doctors' assistants almost never return calls. When they do, it's only to tell you you have to make an appointment if you want the doctor to listen to your medical issues. My 84-year-old mother-in-law has been in severe pain for over a month now, due to compression fractures in her back. She has been seen by an emergency room doctor and a neurosurgeon who couldn't help her. The damage is too severe for the usual procedure. She has had x-rays and an MRI, which are all on file with Caromont Medical, of which SPFP is now a part, yet they refuse to call in a refill for pain medication that the emergency doctor initially prescribed. SPFP says they have to see MIL first; and when they were told she can't move except feebly to go to the bathroom, they insisted on a telehealth "visit." My questions are: If they already have all the other doctors' notes and the diagnostic procedure results, why do they need another visit just to prove she's in pain enough to get prescription medicine? Furthermore, if a telehealth visit is good enough, why isn't a telephone call? I would name the particular doctor who exhibits such a callous attitude, but I don't know if that's allowed. It would serve her right to be called out in public, however. My family and I have been patients at SPFP for decades; but it seems that, as soon as they joined Caromont, their attitudes and actual practices went downhill. We are looking for new doctors. My advice to you is to avoid this practice like the plague! They'll avoid you and your issues that you try to speak to them about.
I was dismissed from the practice for 3 no shows but I tried to contact the team to come back and they said they would call back but never did, poor customer service & I was never given a warning about what would happen. But I always called in
South Point Family Practice has been our primary care facility since moving to the Carolinas 18 years ago. Always had great care with Dr. Chin. However, had a not so great experience with Dr. Ogirri. I went to her with a request and to get consultation dealing with this sensitive topic of the Covid vaccine. She answered some of my questions but became somewhat irritated and short with me when I asked about still getting the virus even after getting the vaccine. I didn't appreciate being dismissed and cut off when asking her legitimate questions about this vaccine. She grabbed my paperwork and exited the exam room when she felt like she had had enough of the conversation. I don't believe that is what a true & caring physician who is bound by the hypocritic oath is supposed to be about. Its supposed to be about what's best for your patient, that individual, not about society or disregarding my concerns and making it about her family. Regardless of whether you agree with your patients you should still hear them fully and not state I'm not going down this rabbit hole. When a patient has questions who are you supposed to turn to.... the professionals???
They don't even see sick people. What's the point of having a doctor office that only sees healthy people. I am all for them covid-19 before I enter the building or having people being seen in the car.
Been a patient here for more than 30 years
Amber Race PA-C is my care giver that I trust completely with my treatment for my type two diabetes. She was there for me whenever I feel ill and her positive attitude is a fresh breath of fresh air. In a time that healthcare professionals are changing careers because they are tired of the hard times we all have been dealing with. It’s nice to know she is a good one that will be around. Thank you, Amber
I am thankful that the Lord pointed me toPA Amber Race. She is amazing and genuinely cares for her patients. So glad I found her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
