I have the up most apprecation for Dr. Anderson. He did my knee surgery. However he has an x-ray tech that needs to learn that a knee brace that is going over an surgical site does not go on the floor. Maybe she needs to have a refresher course in cross contamination.
Excellent first appointment, everyone was very friendly and helpful ??
Dr Anderson replaced my left hip on June 1 2020. I was up using crutches in 2 days and only a cane in 10 days, then without in 14 days, thanks to a well performed surgery and lots of PT. I had no bruising and very little swelling.

Outstanding ortho surgeon!!! He did my total knee replacement and shoulder torn rotator cuff repair surgeries. He is highly skilled, pays attention to detail, and his results are excellent.
First experience with this doctor. Appointment time was 2:20, didn't get called back until after 3:00. Nurse didn't introduce herself as nurse, I had to ask. Waited in there for a long time. Then saw PA. Liked her very much! Waited more. Went to x-ray and back. Waited more. Finally saw doctor. Felt very hurried. Could hear him going room to room, then back room to room, etc. Did not get enough explanation about my situation and the reasons for corticosteroid shot in both knees. I asked about side effects and felt as though I got a pat on the head. Not thrilled with experience. If I need to go back, I'll just see the PA! Oh, finally left at 4:45!
Doctor came in and out of room several times obviously juggling patients. I felt very rushed. I also camel away with more questions than I had going in. Arrived 2:00 for 2:20 appointment. Left at 4:45!!!!!
Very polite. Explained everything I could understand. And told me it would be in my best interest to have surgery. But I had to make the decision. I had total knee surgery and am glad I had it. I would recommend him. He was great. You just have to do everything they tell you to do. Wether you like it or not. Even if it hurts. I am glad I had mine done.
Most caring doctor I've ever had.I would trust him with my children and grandchildren.
Good surgeon He has horrible bedside manner and does not explain the recovery time or side effects from surgery. He really likes himself.
Dr. Anderson is now in Boone, NC now with Appalachian Sports Medicine. He did my total knee replacement and I was happy with his work. I plan on going to him for my second knee next year. I was up walking the next morning (couldn't do it the same day, though they tried to get me up, because my spinal had not worn off...which is a good thing in terms of pain). I have done well. Dr. Anderson spent plenty of time with me before my surgery and answered my list of questions. Follow-up visits were with his PA, but even then he popped in to answer a couple of questions. His staff came with him and they are very good.
So happy with the service my wife and I have received from Dr Steven Anderson and his staff. I would highly recommend him to everyone.
Dr. Steven Anderson has performed 3 successful surgeries for me. He is #1!

Dr. Anderson is a highly skilled doctor. I recently had to have the same surgery on my left shoulder that I had done on my right shoulder many years ago. Dr. Anderson done an awesome job of explaining the procedure before the surgery and he performed the surgery immaculately. Afterwards he was very compassionate with me about the therapy, soreness, and pain.

Dr Anderson is so busy I am beginning to wonder if quality healthcare can be achieved by a "lone Orthopedic surgeon" in a low income county. Access to healthcare in rural Wilkes County is bad and getting worse.
