Allison Mikel's Online Review Report Card

This woman has saved my life I would recommend her to any family member or peer or anyone you care about yall people complaining about how she’s late because she answers her patients who are in crisis situations like me don’t be selfish this woman will bend over backwards for her patients and I don’t believe she has the capability to wrong people she is a amazing woman who has saved me I’m a 20 year old going through cancer treatment by the way. If you don’t like what I have to say find a new psychiatrist but she has changed my life and bends over backwards for her patients.

I like my psychiatrist but this place literally never answers the phones and has no way to schedule online. Kinda hard to get actual treatment when you can't even schedule an appointment.

I was a patient here for about 7 to 8 years with dr mikel. I have struggled to find the right medications and turned out that I can’t be in any medication. Recently I was prescribed adhd medication and a benzodiazepine for anxiety in the morning. Well that combination with the second day second dose of both of those medications went horrible wrong. It put me in a medication induced psychosis. Unfortunately I ended up overdosing that evening, crashed my car, and more things happened at the hospital. I was sent to holly hill, which I didn’t need to be there. I now have traffic tickets, and other things. I found out later in holly hill that those to medications combined for me should have never been prescribed to me given my psychiatric diagnosis, and the high risk of physical problems. Unfortunately the on concerns dr mikel had was me overdosing or addiction. Not dissociation, blacked out memory, or not understanding what I was feeling after the second day I took that dose. Now I am going through hell. Facing charges. Lost my car cause it got totaled and in legal fees debt. This was a major medication error. I am not happy at all!

Unprofessional and Inconsiderate I waited almost an hour for the Dr to show up to my new patient appointment. When she didn't I called the office and the receptionist couldn't get in touch with her either. As a new patient this gives me a horrible first impression of the Dr and of the practice. This kind of behavior is incredibly unprofessional and inconsiderate of their patients time.

Dr Mikel has been a life saver for me she listen to all my questions and has made a big difference in me and my life she is absolutely the best I would highly recommend her Her office staff is awesome. Jennelle King

My provider was late to all 4 of my appointments usually by more than 30 minutes. She was helpful when she showed up but the process was painful especially because my meds were not working.

Dr. Mikel and her supporting staff have been nothing but amazing to me! I have worked with them for years now and my needs are always being put first. Dr. Mikel follows closely with what medications are right for me and are working with minimal side effects. She doesn't just push drugs she actually cares about her patients and how they are doing. Her admin staff are nothing but friendly and compassionate and know me by name. They are always ready to go above and beyond to help me in all my needs and are sympathetic when I am having a bad day. I will never go to another practice as I won't ever find this level of care and attention anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Mikel and your team for truly changing my life so that I can be my best self. I don't know what I would do without you guys. Thank you for always working with me to provide the utmost high level of care. Due to all your help I am living the best me despite my ups and downs and it has done nothing but have positive impacts on my family. If I could give more than 5 stars trust me I would!!!

Best level of care! Dr. Mikel and her team have always gone above and beyond to provide me with the best level of care. She doesn't just push drugs on me but works with me to find what works the best woth minimal side effects. Her and her staff are so compassionate and caring and truly want what's best for their patients. I am know by name with admin and they always check in with me to see how I am doing and to help me schedule any appointments that I may need. Everyone works hard to make sure I am well taken care of and it has improved my life in a personal and family aspect. I could not say anything but the best about this practice!

Dr Mikel was very kind and helpful when she would actually show up to my appointment. The first appt she was an hour and 45 minutes late with not even an apology. The 2nd appointment she was 30 minutes late. The 3rd she just didn’t show up and I had to reschedule for the following week even though my card on file had already been charged before the appointment. And was then 45 minutes late to that rescheduled appointment. I understand things happen, hence my scheduling follow up appointments, but it just becomes unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. My therapist had referred the practice and has been so apologetic since. I was also told that the practice was in network with Cigna just to get letters from Cigna after the fact saying she is out of network. I’ve also had to pay the goodrx prices for my medications since no one will fill out the insurance forms the pharmacy has sent over the last three months.

We got changed to Dr. Mikel after our NP left the practice. The first meeting was fine. She was 30 minutes late and made me feel that it was my fault. She did change my son’s medication dosage which was fine. After 4 days I ended up getting a message from the teacher that things were not so well at school. I sent a message through the portal for her to let me know what we can do. The next day we started having problems at home due to his behavior. I called the practice and they said that she will send her a message to contact me. The following week after another portal message and call into the office..nothing. It’s been over 10 days since I have asked for help. So sad that this is what this practice has gone to.
