Dr Summers performed hip surgery on my daughter with special needs after she had a fall. The doctors that examined her in the ER concluded she would need hip replacement. Dr Summers decided she would do best with pins instead. He explained that she could be at risk for needing a hip replacement if it did not hold, but he felt the odds were in her favor for a successful outcome. This surgery overall would be a easier recovery as well as a better option for her young age. He was right!! The recovery was very smooth and she was back on her feet much faster than expected. It has been two years since the surgery and we are extremely happy with the results. So happy Dr Summers was her doctor that day!!!!!
Had an accident where I broke my hip. Dr. Summers performed a hemi arthroplasty to safely return function to my right hip. His concern for the patient was excellent and he explained everything in great detail. I would gladly recommend his services to anyone needing orthopedic services.
Dr Summers was great. He was empathetic, knowledgeable, and patiently walked me through the decision process to choose between partial and total knee replacement surgery, based on the results of my MRI. He then performed the surgery in June 2022. I am now 6-weeks post surgery and my knee is almost back to normal. And it feels great! Best surgeon I have ever had.
I visited Dr. Summers regarding knee pain and cracking. He viewed my x-rays, bent my knee, asked me a couple question and gave me a diagnosis. He did not seem interested in discussion or explanation of this diagnosis, he didn't even tell me the name until I explicitly asked for it. When I presented him with evidence that does not support his diagnosis (such as the areas of pain, or lack of telling symptoms) he treated them as unimportant. Knee problems are not simple to diagnose, especially when so little effort is made to understand my symptoms. I will be visiting a different doctor.
There is no doubt that summers works for insurers and says what they want him to say to the point of malpractice . you may get better treatment if you are not an insurers patient
courteous, took adequate time to make full explanation and answer questions, provided treatment options
I visited this gentleman regarding a shoulder injury over a year ago. He moved my arm around at different angles and after doing a couple very low-tech, third-world worthy screenings, he concluded that my pain is nothing more than a strain and nothing to worry about. I later went to a local urgent clinic and saw a Physician's assistant who was kind enough to refer me to get an MRI which revealed that there is indeed a tear in one of the tendons. At that time I did not have insurance and I will need to pay for the MRI out of pocket and I was unable to do anything else about the injury other than wait. So I took over a year and a half of rest and rehabilitation assuming that the pain would go away on its own. After all that waiting and unable to even comfortably sleep on my right side, I made the mistake of going back to Dr. Summers. I assumed that on the second consultation he will help me find the root cause of the problem, and perhaps show more concern (or care, for that matter) now that I've had another opportunity to visit his office. I couldn't have been more wrong! He asked me questions saying "since you mentioned 'accident', is there any pending litigation on this matter?" Am I here to see a doctor or a lawyer?! Then he proceeded to do the exact same silly tests he had performed before and came to the same darn conclusion! I'm searching for another orthopaedic specialist.
Amazing Orthopedic Surgeon. He did a rotator cuff repair, a clavicle debridement, and a bicep tendon reattachment on my shoulder 3 months ago. This scar looks great. I wish I would have had him as a doctor when they did my other shoulder. I highly recommend him to anyone who is suffering from debilitating shoulder pain.

Dr. Summers is very RUDE, disrespectful, arrogant and has a terrible bedside manner! He told us what he THOUGHT was wrong with daughter’s knee. He refused to order an MRI until I got angry. He seemed more concerned that I was questioning his opinion. Of course the issue was worse than he THOUGHT. I would not recommend him to anyone!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
