List of Andrew J. Avery's Reviews
In this complicated time, when every trip outside is a challenge, Dr. Avery's atmosphere in the office is welcoming, and communication is easy. Dr. Avery makes time to listen, gives excellent advice, does not rush. He is well-prepared, and takes time to learn the patient's card. He remembers and takes into account my lifestyle and occupation, and gives medical advice accordingly. I appreciate that. My mother has been seeing him for many years, and I switched to him after seeing excellent care he takes of my mother. Female, fifties, litigator.
Dr. Avery allows goes over your file and makes for sure your records are up to date and to see if your latest medical issue ties into any past medical problems to get a better view of the whole medical issue that I am experiencing. I have never had a doctor that checked so thoroughly into my past medical chart and make for sure all my medicines are current and updated and deleted if I no longer on the drug. He keeps in touch with all the doctors I see and knows if I have gone to another doctor
My husband's doctor was not available, so Dr. Avery saw him. In just a few minutes, we learned more about what was going on with my husband, meds, and treatment! He listens, he's smart, and he's quick to make good decisions! Thanks!
Does not understand older patients needs. Does not know or understand complex situations. Still very green as a new Dr. Always in a hurry . Does not ask the patient questions for their needs . Has no connection in Charlotte for referrals. His nurse always looks mad and makes heavy breathing noises like she is upset to assist you. No follow up. Might be good for easy problems. Needs more experience,
The doctor and his staff are always pleasant and thorough.
Today was my 3rd visit with Dr. Avery. I was impressed with him at my first visit when my regular doctor (same clinic) was unavailable and I needed immediate attention. My husband was looking for a new doctor; I recommended Dr. Avery to my him and he is also very pleased with him. Dr. Avery is very knowledgable and competent, thorough, a good listener and explainer, and compassionate. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Avery.
Beware. Went to see dr avery for an insurance covered well visit. He seemed to want to talk more about football than anything, however for my labs i had one slightly elevated measure, which he then turned into 14 additional tests, charged me for a sick visit during the same office visit as my well visit, and a "counseling" session. So my fully covered well visit - so i thought - ended up with two seperate bills for a total close to $800. All tests were returned negative, so he wanted to continue this quest with an ultrasound - to which i declined based on the financial burden he had already saddled me with. Furthermore, there was no forewarning that he was going to order all the tests he ordered and no follow up on the results.
This doctor left his practice and did not make arrangements for someone to take over his practice or the care of his patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
