Dr. Shawen replaced my ankle that was causing me so much pain due to arthritic changes that I couldn’t walk or stand on it. He explained my x-rays and answered my questions. His office was responsive in a timely manner when I contacted them after my surgery with questions and concerns. The staff has always been pleasant when I’ve visited for follow up.

I see Dr Shawen for arthritis in both my feet and have for a few years. He is very professional, answers my questions, never in a hurry. Yesterday he talked with me again about the injections not going to work at some point. He has prepared me for the surgery and very long recovery. He said we will not do it until I have too. A very kind man. I have been blessed to have him for my feet and also blessed to have Dr Alan Ward at Ortho for 3 hand surgeries fit to arthritis.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shawen since late 2019, when I was referred to him for a broken foot. He was very diligent with his follow-up and when it was determined that I needed surgery in 2021, he was extremely supportive and explained everything clearly and thoroughly. After the surgery his follow-up has gone above and beyond any I have received from other physicians. He is very personable and efficient. I would strongly recommend him to anyone having foot problems!
