Dr. Lord is the rudest physician I’ve ever encountered.

Dr Lord refused to continue to see me as a patient solely because I had Medicare, even though I wasn’t filing for Medicare to pay for those visits, and was self pay. I had signed a form saying that I wouldn’t file for Medicare, but he lost it. He did not give me an opportunity to sign it again and said he could no longer see me. It was a problem for him because he doesn’t accept Medicare and this form has to be signed. I was devastated as I had been seeing him for at least a year at great expense and felt I was making progress.

I've been seeing Dr. Lord for many years now. He is a compassionate and considerate doctor that genuinely cares about his patients.

I met with Dr. Lord recently after battling with addiction, anxiety and depression. This was my first time seeing a Psychiatrist, and although I was nervous, the appointment could not have been more comfortable. Dr. Lord went out of his way to accommodate me, even after a power outage at his office. He took his time, acted genuinely interested, thoroughly explained the treatment plan and gave me hope. Dr. Lord also stated that although medication can be helpful, he is conservative when it comes to medications. Moreover, he explained possible side effects, and started me on tailored doses to see what medication regimen will work best. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Dr. Lord.

I went to see doctor Lord last week looking for help with some behaviors and addiction I have been carrying on since a very young age. More than a few times I have tried to correct the issues on my own unsuccessfully. after sometime talking with him I felt he didn't care or wanted to deal with my particular case or simply didn't believe me because of my many years of practice not showing how broken up I am about my mental health. Maybe, if i ever try to sick professional help i can't forget to brake down in tears. After all was said, I mentioned i recently started seeing some sings that made me think there might ne a god after all (i have not been a spiritual person before) and from that point on he just wanted to treat me with the word of god and the holly spirit. even told me "out of all the doctors in the area i don't think it was a coincidence you came to see me" …really? don't get me wrong, it might be the only way and i have witnessed a few people completely change their lives for the best with the word of god alone. my only conflict with that is THAT MESSAGE IS FREE! the apostles didn't seat at home waiting on people that could afford to pay them to receive the message. they gave their lives to spread it. I went to see a psychiatrist paying the cost out of packet, not a preacher. if he want's to talk to me about god I am not paying for it. I told him I was there to see him as a doctor and he neglected to help me from a doctor's perspective. he agreed to see me again but only if I was willing to address my problems from a spiritual point of view to which i told him i wasn't interested.

I've seen several psychiatrists over the years and Dr. Lord is by far the most thorough, caring, and knowledgeable. I've seen him in 2011 and 2018, and he is still the same excellent doctor he was in 2011. He's not in a rush to medicate somebody if he doesn't feel it's needed, but if he does recommend a medication, you can tell he has a very thorough knowledge of the medications and is careful to inform you about potential side-effects. He actually recommended I talk about the medication with my family before taking it. I've never had that happen with another doctor before, but I have had doctors with the "let's try this next" mentality. He does have a personality that some people may not "get." He may seem kind of nerdy but to me he comes across as highly educated and analytical, but also clearly compassionate. Don't pay attention to negative reviews that are two words long.

Not only is Dr. Lord well-versed in psychopharmacology, he also possesses superb psychotherapy skills, a combination one does not find very often these days. He is also a board-certified Addiction Medicine specialist, which is very helpful given the high comorbidity of psych and addictive disorders. But I would highly recommend him whether or not one has an alcohol/other drug problem. He is one of the best psychiatrists I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Incredibly bright, insightful, and talks to me like I'm a partner not a patient.

Dr Lord is absolutely wonderful!!!!!
