I was misdiagnosed with IBS by this doctor. I now live on Parenteral Nutrition. This doctor gaslights his patients. He is bad at diagnosing. If I had continued seeing him and had not received a second opinion I would have died years ago.

Never thought I’d review a Dr. online, but here we are. Dr. Smith was extremely condescending, rude, and insulting. I’ve never met someone in the health field with such a horrible personality. He’s clearly a narcissist and has zero regard for helping patients. Steer clear!

First time I saw him and had colonoscopy. I loved him. The second time not so much. None of my issues have been resolved. And he pretty much dismissed me. Two years later my symptoms worsen and I’m forced to leave the stage looking for proper care. F

Dr. Smith and his staff were all amazing!!! His nurses (Kelly, Courtney, Latishe, Amber and Laura) were so comforting and awesome. They helped me relax before my procedure. Thank you so much!! Oh I can't forget about Ms.Gail his scheduler...she was very persistent and staying on top of me to schedule my colonoscopy. Thanks a bunch!!! Carol J. Robles

Best gastroenterologist I've ever had, and I've seen quite a few. I travel 4 hours, round trip, to see him. He has given me better care and insight into my ulcerative colitis that any doc. He stays on top of his profession and all the latest developments in his field. Reena, his PA, is fabulous as well, and I've never had such a caring, attentive nurse as Susan. No matter where I move for work, I would happily make the haul to come see him.

Dr. Smith's STAFF lacks professionalism. His scheduler, Gail, forgot to send me the email with all the information I needed to fill out and with the preparation procedures for the colonoscopy. I had to call to get them a week later. My follow-up nurse, Susan, was very unfriendly. I got the impression I was an inconvenience to her. After the colonoscopy, I was rushed out of recovery as soon as possible so she could go to lunch. Also, I was supposed to get results from pathology regarding the polyp they removed; they said they would call me in about a week with the results. Two weeks later, I have not received this call or the results. I called them; Susan acted as if I was a bother and blamed it on slow mail. I checked the mycarolinashealthcare.org website where all my reports and procedures are recorded. Still, 2 weeks later, the pathology report is not recorded on the website either.
